A Variety of Hummingbird Species

In honor of the new hummingbird video from Birds & Blooms, here are some photos of various hummingbird species I've seen during my birding adventures.

Rob Ripma

The hummingbird video that was produced by Birds & Blooms and released today (you can see it here) inspired me to take a look through the many hummingbird photos that I have taken over the years. I’ve been lucky to photograph a wide variety of hummingbird species, especially the ones that are common in Southeast Arizona and at The Lodge at Pico Bonito in Honduras. I hope you enjoys all of these beautiful hummingbirds!

I photographed this Blue-throated Hummingbird at Miller Canyon in Southeast Arizona. It's one of the larger species in the area and this one was a big bully at the feeders!

I love Magnificent Hummingbirds! It's amazing how bright and colorful they are.

Rufous-tailed Hummingbirds are the most common species at the Lodge at Pico Bonito. They were easy to see and photography from my table during lunch.

What are some of your favorite hummingbird species?

I love hummingbirds and wish they would come to the feeder I put out. They seem to hover over it but never settle to drink from it.
    Any suggestions please.
I only ever see the Rufous-tailed hummingbird in this part of Florida.
