Ceramic Tile Holiday DIY Coasters

Go green this year by recycling old holiday cards or decorative paper into DIY coasters. These make nice gifts, favors or festive accents for your home!

Materials:

  • Ceramic tile about 4¼ in. square
  • Recycled cards or decorative papers
  • Paper trimmer
  • Sticky back stiffened felt
  • Decoupage glue
  • Sponge brush
  • Clear acrylic sealer

Step-By-Step Instructions:

Step 1

From recycled cards or decorative papers, cut a 4-in. square. (Project tip: Don’t be afraid to experiment with the shape of the decorative paper. Try circles, stars or diamond shapes!)

Step 2

Use sponge brush to apply a thin coat of decoupage glue to the top of the tile. Immediately adhere the paper square to the tile, centering the design. Let the glue dry.

Step 3

Apply a thin layer of decoupage glue over the paper and cover the tile edges. Let dry.

Step 4

Cut a 4-in. square piece of sticky back stiffened felt. Center and adhere to the bottom of the coaster.

Step 5

Repeat steps 1-5 for desired number of tile DIY coasters to complete the set.
