- How does the Photo Challenge work?
At the beginning of each month, we'll introduce a new challenge with a theme. In many cases, this theme will be open-ended and give you the ability to be creative! Throughout the month, we will post some of the best photos on this page. Since it is an ongoing challenge, we will continually be adding to them. Keep watching to see if your photo gets posted!
- How do I submit a photo for the photo challenge?
Click here and find the "Photo Upload" link. Click the Browse button to search for the photo or video you want to upload and click on it. Your photo will download and prompt you to enter a title, description and photo tags for your photo. When you are finished, click "Save."
- How will I know my photo was received?
You will receive an automated email immediately after your photo is uploaded stating that your photo was received.
- How will I know when my photo is accepted?
If your photo is accepted, you will receive an automated email stating that your photo was published and a link will be included in the email for you to view your photo.
- What if my photo doesn't get published or is rejected?
It is possible that a photo might get rejected if it doesn't relate to our subject matter or isn't suitable for our audience. Look on our site for examples of photos that are acceptable.
- How can I share my photo with others?
Use the "Email a Friend" portion on the right-hand side of the page as you view your photo.
- How many photos can I submit for each photo challenge?
There is no limit to photos, but we ask that you please keep your submissions to your favorite two or three. We receive many photos each day and we can only use a small amount in the playlists.
- I received an email saying my photo had been published, but why don't I see it in the playlist?
If we published your photo, it means that it was a good photo and acceptable for our site, but might not necessarily make the playlist since we receive hundreds of entries per day for each challenge. If it isn't included in the playlist, we encourage you to keep trying. Our site gets many great entries and we would like to include them all, but can only display a small percentage of them. Also, remember, when you upload a photo, you MUST include that month's "theme" in your photo tags or in the title box. Otherwise, we will not be able to find it in the database and therefore it will never make it into the playlist.
- What happens to my photo after it is published?
After your photo gets published, it is available through our site for others to view, comment, rate and email your photo to others. Birds & Blooms reserves the right to use it in promotional material or in its publication, in accordance with our Terms of Service.
