No, I’m afraid mine did not bloom all that well either.  Maybe I need to divide them as well.

Good evening Charlie, Bette, and all who follow! Yes the sun did come out.  It was a perfect day to be outdoors.

My DS#2 called and asked if I wanted to go mushroom picking.  He did not have to ask me twice.  I got ready in a hurry.  He picked me up and already had a Subway sandwich in the car for me.  Wow…..and I wasn’t even hungry.  I’m afraid there were no mushrooms.  We had no rain for a while now and mushrooms need lots of water and humidity.  We might try again on the weekend.

When I got home, I tackled the garden chores.  So I continue to cut down as many plants as my back can stand.  Lots of work around here.

A little computer and then a bit of tv for the rest of the evening.

Never thought of that Charlie.  I know they make these pots that you can insert into the ground, and they decompose.  I’m not so sure of plastic ones.  Maybe one of the other members can answer that question better than I can.

Nice picture Sharon.  Looks like your swans are doing well.  My baby goldfinches are beginning to fend for themselves.  The parents were smart.  They brought them to my feeders.  I saw a ‘father’ goldfinch this weekend feeding a young one. What a blessing it is to see so many new addition to my bird menagerie at the feeders.  I don’t always get them all in, but here are a few.

You’ve seen my front mums.  This is the garnet coloured ones on the side of the house.  This was the tiniest plant.  I was sure it would never survive.  Guess it proved me wrong.  My favourite so far.

This is the last of the phlox.  I thought they would be gone by now.  Must be because it’s this years new addition….

Another mum.  This too was tiny when I first bought it, but it’s still not that big.

    Pinky Winky and grass!

Good morning!  It’s only 51* now, but looking forward to this afternoon which is supposed to be 70*.  Again, the sun is coming out later on in the day.  I guess one can say it’s exactly like yesterday.  No rain though!

I must say it’s a lazy morning for me.  I’m in slow mode.  Not for long.  I’ll be working in the flower beds and weeding.

Glad you feel better Kathy.  Try to get as much rest as you can.  Over the years I noticed that if you overdo it, it drags on and on.

    Thanks Charlie for the cookies.

    Have a good day everyone!

Julie, one year I gave them to my neighbour along with an aquarium so he can look after them.  The following year (a mild winter), they survived.  So I tried to do the same thing last year.  Unfortunately they did not survive.  I think so far I see only one fish.  Will ask the neighbour if he wants it.  If not, I may just get a goldfish bowl and take it from there.

LOL, Tami…..I’ve only recently fallen in love with caterpillars.  It’s all because of the Monarchs.  I am so determined to attract them to my flower beds.  I planted wild milkweed, and right next to that a butterfly bush.  I call it the maternity ward, and the buffet restaurent….lol

Good evening!  I guess I complained enough this morning about the weather because it turned out real nice this afternoon.

Yes, it’s time to collect seeds.  I am but not from all my plants.

I did my errands just past noon.  Stopped at the bank to pay the monthly bills, and the municipal taxes.  Still have one payment left for the year.  Seems everything is costing more this past year.

I decided to continue cleaning out beds, cutting down plants, and filling feeders.  What I thought was no more fish in the pond, lo and behold I saw one inching it’s way from under one of the rocks.  How it survived, I don’t know.  I thought they were all dead.  Good thing I left the water.

Just finished dinner and now it’s play time on the computer.

That is very interesting.  I would never have thought of that.  On a sour note, I don’t like those caterpillars…they remind me of maggots…..hmmm!

Enjoy your trip.  More chance of something happening on the roads than in the sky….even with what is going on.  We will win in the end!!!!!

Gorgeous picture.  I love all birds of prey….but not in my yard….They can go feed themselves elsewhere…..!!!!!!  There is a resident hawk in and around my backyard.  Easy access with all the birds feeding at the feeders.

Good morning!  Overcast here this morning.  Not expecting it to change until late this afternoon….well that is what I heard on the radio this morning.

I don’t have all that much planned for today.  I know I have to go out for a couple of food items and the bank.  Looks like rain, so I don’t think I’ll be able to do much outdoors.  I spoke to DIL lat night, and it looks like I might be visiting them for our Canadian Thanksgiving.

Molly, did your daughter get back home?  How is she feeling today?

Charlene, looks like we have the same weather today.

Charlie, muffins sound good.  I’ll have to go on Pinterest and see if there is a nice apple muffin recipe.

Leslie, I succumbed this past weekend…..I ordered 2 phlox again.  Well there were no shipping costs so what could I do……(lol).

Melissa, that sure is an interesting plant.  Nice picture.

Karen, hope you feel better.  This time of year lots of virus going around.

Wendy, good thing you got a chance to sleep in.  That always helps if you get extra rest.

Bette, how do you overwinter parsley?

    Have a nice day folks!
