    Thanks Judy for trying.

Sharon, you are right, it is a fox sparrow.  I posted it on Facebook and someone identified it right away.  What is great is that it’s the first time I see this bird.

Good morning everyone!  The sun is out but it’s on the chilly side.  Looks like we have to accept that it’s fall, and the weather unpredictable.

After a busy day yesterday, looks like it will be even busier today.  I have to go to the bank, then to the grocery store.  Later on in the afternoon I have to go and get myself a new pair of jeans.  On the way I have to stop at Michael’s to pick up beads to work on crafts with my granddaughters tomorrow.   When all the shopping is done, I am going to my DD for pizza just before we go for trick or treating with the grandboys.  Wonder if I’ll last that long.  Thanks goodness the rain is suppose to hold off until later in the night.

P.S. Yes Gayle, my kitty loves her new food, but I have to mix it with the other so as not to give her more stomach problems.  It’s always better to slowly introduce new foods to pets….so I am told.  Thanks for asking.

Hope you all have a nice day.

Good evening Karen and all who follow.

I must say it was a busy day.  All the chores, etc. I wrote on the morning post I was able to accomplish.  All I have left is to water all the house plants.  Boy….am I tired.

When I finished my yardwork, I sat down on the step of the deck in the backyard, and watched the birds at the feeders.  I suppose they must know me because the chickadees, goldfinches, and nuthatch were eating in peace.  I was about 15 feet away.  Just before dusk a spotted a little bird that I have never seen in my life.  I will ask on the birding forum if someone can identify it for me.

Gayle, yesterday I mentioned the company name of the cat food, but spelled it wrong.  It’s called Fromm.  It’s made in the US since 1907 or something like that.  Maybe that’s why you did not recognize it when I wrote it on yesterday’s post.  It’s a specialty food with 70% real salmon, and other fish.

Tomorrow I’ll be Trick or Treating with my grandsons.  Should be a blast.

    Have a nice evening!

Good morning everyone!  I’m looking on the bright side.  The sun is out just barely, but we don’t expect rain until later this evening.  The temperature is going down.  I am still waiting for Indian summer.  I could be waiting until next year…..lol

This is going to be a full day…..running around like a plucked chicken.  I have to go to several places, rake the front lawn, begin a major cleanup in the house, the front windows have to be washed, and I really must make some kind of a cooked meal here.

Hope you all have a great day!

    Pretty flowers Steve.

Gayle you must already know that roses are my very favourite flower.  Love yours.

Steepdrive, thanks for sharing your trip in photos.

These are still going strong in my garden.  They haven’t changed a bit even though the picture was taken earlier.

Charlene, your sedum sure looks healthy!

You know, all my life I’ve been a dog person.  Ever since I got my kitty Elle Cid, I’ve gone completely mad!  I don’t think I can love her more.  Here she is…..8 months old…Blue Point Lynx.

By the way, all your kitties are gorgeous….Love the colour.

Good evening.   It’s a little late, but thought I’d chime in.

I guess the weatherman must have heard my complaints this morning because the sun came out for a couple of hours.

I know Molly started a thread on kitty food.  Well I did manage to go to this specialty pet store.  My goodness, what great service.  The owner was so knowledgeable, plus she did not push the most expensive food.  Anyways, I bought Fomm made in the U.S.A.  It contains wild salmon, and all kinds of goodies.  Hope this one Elle Cid will be able to digest better.  The rice I added to her food today seems to help.  She sure loves the rice with her food.

My best friend and I then went out to dinner at the Texas Star Restaurent.  We both had the surf & turf platter.  Boy was it good.  I’m stuffed.

My poor pets had to wait for their dinner.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention.  I did work in the flower beds for about 2 hours.  Guess you can say it was a full day.

    Kathy…..your pictures are beautiful.

Thanks for your input gals.  I have stopped giving Elle Cit canned foods.  Her diarrhea was so much worse when I used to give her some as a treat.

Well let’s just say I spent almost 2 hours researching on the net with regards to  kitten food.  Of course there was a lot of information for adult cats as well.  Like it is unbelievable what they put into dry food.  Not all products are equal.  Then there are the researchers who frightened the living daylights out of me what they say could be inside pet food.  Wow…!!!!!  The ped food producers sure know how to go about making their food a big deal, only to find our that many foods incorporated into the so called US and Canadian animal foods, come from China.  Then there is serious differences  between poultry meal and poultry by-products.  I learned that in the by-products,  included could be something you don’t want to know what  is in it.  I repeat….. you don’t want to know.

Now there is the freeze dried raw food which is supposed to be great.   It’s expensive though.  Or you can make your own cat food with fresh meat.  Cats are felines, and in the wild do not eat any grain or veggie products (i.e. corn, peas, fruits).  Many of the dry food include these.  If a cat’s digestive system is made for meat it may cause irritations.  I don’t think that is the reason for my kitty’s problems.  She is after all a cat with some health issues.  Then again being thrown off the balcony did not help I’m sure.  She does have a sensitive stomach. I can tell when she passes gas.

I did call the vet and with all the other positive traits, the vet’s office said to keep monitoring her bowel movements.  Well I have been doing that.  My best friend said that her mother, who was a specialty cat breeder, mixed some rice into the food.  I misunderstood the first time when I did give her rice,  and found that her stools were better, but I was supposed to continue until her bowels were ‘settled’.  So I boiled her some, and added her dry bits to it.  She ate it like she had never seen food.  Now I am waiting for the results.  Yes, if this is not straightened out I will take her to the vet whether she needs one or not.  Otherwise she is so playful, and full of mischief, and drinks lots of water.   Not to mention she is ruling this house including poor Zorro who has been dethroned!

Thanks again for your help.  I will keep everyone’s suggestions as a reference.
