Good evening!  I’m finally sitting down.  Talk about a hectic day, but a very nice one.

I decided at the last minute to add a cream of leek soup to my family dinner.  It was a hit.  It’s a wonder my head is not swollen from the compliments my grandkids gave me on how delicious was the lasagna I made as the mail meal.  Everyone went home with a care package.  We had lots of fun too.

    Hope your evening went well.

Wow Charlene!  You are one lucky lady to have that many Monarchs visiting your garden.  The most I saw at one time was 3.  Better than not seeing any!

Good morning all!  What a lousy day so far.  Mind you, I’ve only seen just a little over an hour.  I slept in.  I don’t remember when I slept to almost 10 AM.  I’m shocked!  I can’t say I was tired yesterday.  Must be my body is preparing for the fall and winter months….hmmm!

Yes, Charlene, those are the moments that our grandchildren will remember about us.  It’s called quality time.  I’ve already hired my 7 and 8 year old grandsons for the fall clean up.  Can you believe it….they are looking forward to it.  My DD is a single mom, and by the boys working, they will learn to save their money for what they like.  Electronic stuff is expensive these days.  Thanks for asking about my kitty.  She seems to be better.  She’s sleeping quite a bit.  That must help.

This is going to be a great afternoon.  My DS#2 and DD and their families are coming over mid afternoon.  I have had my DD over several times, but this will be both siblings together.  I sure wish my DS#1 who lives in Toronto was here.

Waving to Molly, Del, Kathy, Charlie, Sandy, Karen, Melissa, Eva, Leslie, and all who follow.  Have a great day.

Not a great neighbour I would say.  We have by-laws that do not allow us to mow lawns before 9 AM.

Some people complain that our small town has too  many rules, but they wrote them up for people just like your neighbour!

Kathy I have tried two methods.  One year I cut it down to about 6” of the ground.  It took for ever to bloom.  It did come back though.

Then last year I noticed that my neighbour’s butterfly bush was huge and I asked her what she did.  Well she did not cut it down to the ground.  She left it about 3 feet or a little more.  So I did the same last fall.  Well I must say it bloomed and bloomed.  I never covered it either.

I think that once a butterfly is established you don’t have to worry about losing it.

I am so sorry to read the sad news.  Yes, life is unfair.  Vent all you want.  I am sure that your son will understand the situation.  Maybe when Bill is in the facility, you  might be able to get away for a short time.  Then again, maybe your son will come to visit you for comfort.

Prayers at this time for you, your family, but especially your son.

Thanks for all your suggestions.  I will keep the wet food to a minimum.

Here are a couple more.  Yes, they are hibiscus, but they are the hardy ones.  That tree you saw just above, is a tropical one.  It is now in it’s temporary residence……my bedroom….lol

Good evening all!  Ok, it rained, and still raining…yuck!  It’s quite cold.  I’m not letting it get me down.

Not an exciting day.  My sister and I never did our Saturday Skype thing.  She must be at her country house.  It’s ok, I made up with several calls to people I did not speak to in a while.  I then decided to go get some last  minute goodies for tomorrow’s family dinner at my house.  Both DS#2 and DD with their kids are coming mid afternoon.

I bought this long plastic container for my summer sandals.   They were all over the place.  I also don’t like the strong leather smell.  Now my cupboard is nice and neat.  I wan going to put it under the bed….I might still do that.  My tropical hibiscus is now back in my bedroom.

Molly, sounds like you had lots of fun.  My mother is watering just thinking of those lobsters.  I love lobsters, but this year I haven’t eaten any.

Alma,  bringing plants indoors is a lot of work…..heavy as well.  A good rest will put you back in form…..enjoy!

Hope you all have a nice evening.

Isn’t it a wonderful feeling when you have a wild bird have no fear of a human.  I had the same experience with a Chickadee just last week.  I was euphoric.

    Thanks for sharing!

Same here Wendy.  I try to tough it out as long as I can.  I just put on warmer clothing.  I’m one for not wearing socks.  I did find out last year that if I put socks on, I don’t feel as cold.  My electric bill is way over $2,000. including heating so I try to conserve as much as I can.

I have a grievance here.  I can’t stand when  the toilet paper roll gets to the end, and the very last sheet is stuck to the roll.  Ok, so if all these sheets were added up during my lifetime, I’m sure it would equal a full toilet paper roll….lol. Then there is the frustration.  You might just need that last one…..hmmmmmm!  Anyone feel the same way….or is it me?????

Melissa, that sure is sound advice….Yes, I did get the high end food.  Not the first package because my best friend is feeding Iams to her cat so I thought it would be ok.  Then when I did go to the pet store the salesperson suggested to get my kitty even a higher end dry food.  So I went to the what she considers one of the best foods on the market…yes with meat as the first ingredient.  As for the wet food, I think you are right.  Last night I consulted my neighbour across the street, and she said the same thing….give only a teaspoon of wet per day for a while.  The rest the dry food.

Sorry if I am not posting about my plants, it’s just that I love this kitty and find that many of you know more about cats than I do.  I was right.  The solutions that you all have given me will work in the end.  If not….it’s the vet next!
