Yes Posy, I find that this heat must be getting to the birds.  They are around, but just not as many.  I know they will come back.

Almb…that Blue Jay looks cheeky….like as if to ask…”what are you looking at”….LOL.  Nice picture.

Wottwin….an interesting theatre piece.  I must say that the ‘scenery’ is splendid.

Mmarnee….now that is a stunning hummingbird.   Wish mine would come back.

    Thank you all for participating.

Good morning everyone!  Finally a beautiful perfect summer day.  It is quite cooler this morning.  I can’t stand the humidity.

Yesterday afternoon I invited one of my neighbors for a coffee.  We began at 3 in the afternoon, and my dinner time I said she might as well stay and have dinner with me.  I had nothing prepared, but boy did I work fast to make a decent dinner.  She loved it.  Thank goodness I had some wine left over from when the visitors were here.  Zorro was very happy with my guest.  She happens to be his dogsitter…..LOL.  It was just after nine when she left.  A good time was had by all.

This morning, I decided to go around the yard to take quick pictures.  Well they came out ok, but when I tried to post them, they were small.  It does not have the same effect as in the actual size.  Maybe one day I will be able to post them properly.

Seems like some of you have a difficult time with logging in and posts being lost.  I only have the problem with pictures.  Not much we can do.

I have to go into the city which I am not looking forward to.  When I get back….it’s back to weeding.

Hope you all have a nice day.

Beautiful flowers everyone.   I sure enjoy looking at them.   Here are a few of mine.  I haven’t had much to add the last few days, but now a new bunch is showing.  Some are in the early stages of bloom.

This is a lily, but there is another object that just is nosy and has to admire the neighbor’s flowers….hmmm.

Purple Aster from the mixed seeds…

On the other side of the house…

    Candy phlox…in progress….

Of course Lair you did well to mention the recent health procedures Charlene’s doctor needed to take care of.  I did read the message on Chit Chat.  Now  is the  time to wait for the results, and continue the removal of the rest of the polyps.  Praying for a good result from the biopsy.

Those are such beautiful pictures of flickers.  We get them here once in a while, but not too often.

Looks like rain here so I am not sure I will get a chance to take any pictures.  I do love looking at them though.  With visitors from overseas I am so behind with work that I don’t have time to go bird watching.  I must take some time for it.  My DS gave me a Birds & Blooms hard cover book, and in it there is a map that indicates where we have provincial parks to visit with lots of different bird species.  Can’t wait to begin my trips.

Will try to get a picture in at some point.  I better…..by turn tomorrow!   LOL

Good morning all!  I don’t know what is happening to me, but these late morning rising is ruining my plans for the day.  I lose some hours.  Oh well, maybe my body disagrees with me.  I know I worked very hard yesterday afternoon and part of the evening.

We had a thunderstorm during the night, and by the looks of things, it’s still dark.  I must check the weather forecast.  It guides me as to what I can do outdoors.  Yes, I’m finally getting somewhere with the weeding.  Sure there is still plenty to do, but the end is near……I hope.  The JB are fewer than last year so that’s a good thing.

Gayle, I did cut down those old stems, but just not enough.  Thanks Bette for your help.  I won’t be needing it any more.  No forsythia for me.  I planted a large hosta where the forsythia was growing, and it looks much better.  The forsythia was growing into a tree.  It kind off balanced the 50′ of flower bed at the back.  I’m happy with the result.

Now for the front.  I have a potentilla that has pretty yellow flowers.  The bottom looks awful.  I’m considering removing it.  Then again, it is blooming nicely and the color fits in that space.  Not sure what to do with the woody bottom.  It’s not like the forsythia, the potentilla does have green…it’s just the bottom.  Maybe someone can give me an idea.

I now have to get my act together.  I have to go to Walmart for some hygiene products, to the pet store for Zorro’s food, and I am planning to visit the nursery…maybe 2 nurseries.  Of course I will only be browsing as there is not a space left to plant anything…….Well there might be just a small space near the back of the house wall.  I’m just saying……….! (hee, hee)

    Have a great day!

Yes Sue, this is what happens when you don’t lock the top of the inside cage.  They lift off the top and get into the grilled feeder.  I wired mine with this thin metal string, and no squirrel will ever get in.  Yes, lots of small birds get inside….that’s great, but no cardinal, blue jay or other larger birds can feed from these feeders.  So I supply all different types of feeders for all size birds.

Well I’m afraid it was quiet at the feeders here.  Maybe tomorrow they will come back.  I normally have lots of birds, but not the last 3 days…..some though!
