Good morning.  Overcast here and snow to be coming our way.

Stewart – I vote that we go for it.  Garden Chat is way too busy for me.  When you make your case with Jill, tell her that Veggie needs a regular group there to support the site.  We can be that group.  There are other sites they have that have had poor turnout but Veggie fits the bill for us.  We can be inviting to all who stop by as we have been so far.  Who knows we may get Wilderness to stop by again.  Thanks for taking this on, Stewart.

And for those who like Garden Chat you can continue to post there to threads but still stop in to say hello to us at Veggie.

    Have a good Sunday all.

Marge – you need to stay with us.  And you’re right I was the one who brought it up – Stewart should have scolded me!  We didn’t get the snow you did.  Stayed as mostly rain here.  I don’t think that will be the case tomorrow.

Lots of MIAs today: Brenda, Tigsy, Robbie, Kathy, Fred, Dave, Snow.  I know I must have missed someone.  Always do.  Hope Maxine continues to recover.

Good Saturday morning.  I can hear the water dripping from the roof.  Coating of slush out there.

It was raining when we left Sarah and William’s at 9:30 last night and temps above freezing.  We stopped off to pick up my car and then Dan followed me home.  Raining the whole way with lots of water on the roadways.  No ice that I could see until we turned into the lane.  When I turned in the driveway I knew it had slush on it but just floored it to make it up the steepest part and into the garage.  Looking out now I can see our tire tracks in the slush/ice.  If it had been light when I returned I probably would have chickened out of driving up the hill.

Stewart – you there in Sidmouth?

Robbie – I hope the caught the tumor early enough for your sister.

We had fun eating Ethiopian food last night. No utensils.  You take a piece of injera which is like a crepe and use that to wrap around what you’d put on a fork and pop it all in your mouth.  The injera has a sour dough like taste which helps with the spicy food.  3 of the 4 of us ordered not spicy and William had spicy.  It all came on a big round platter that was placed on a stand in the middle of the table.  We each had our own rolls of the injera which Dan thought at first were moist towels rolled up.  I made the mistake of tasting a bit of jalapeño and had that burning for quite a while at the end of the meal.  Much hotter than any jalapenoes I’ve had before.  At the end they turned off the lights and brought Sarah a small dessert with a candle and sang Happy Birthday. She was surprised.

Not much doing here today.  Still in my pjs.  Dan told me that if there’s shoveling to do, he’ll do it all so I don’t injure my heel again.

    What’s happening where you are?

Good morning.  High thin clouds with the sun showing through.  We are to get a mix of rain & snow tonight.  Hope its starts after we get home.

Today is Sarah’s 29th Birthday (Happy Birthday to your son, Tigsy, too).  We are meeting them at their apartment and going out to eat.  I think Sarah said we would be trying Ethiopian food.  So that’s why I hope the weather holds off till we return.  I’ll drive down to Dan’s office and park there and travel with him the rest of the way there.

Got some new exercises at PT.  Feel them in my muscles in other places besides my foot.

I have two of the exact same bird feeders but one of them is always emptied faster than the other.  Doesn’t matter where I place it.  Strange. Maybe it doesn’t close up as much when lots of weight is on it.  Now that I watch it the feeding holes don’t seem to close at all.  that must be why.

Kathy – what did the doc say?  Don’t think you’ve been back since that visit.

Tigsy – are you still working at the church or doing only proofing? (Oops question answered with your post that beat mine on.)  DH fully retired now?

Brenda – drive safely in the bad weather.

Maxine – prayers for your recovery.

Hello to the rest of you, too.

Marge – I was thinking about seed starting at breakfast just a few minutes ago.  I know I started lettuce and bok choy early to put them in as seedlings in the spring garden.  I need to consult my journal to see when I started them last year.  I still need to inventory my seeds and place a seed order.

Marge – you’re right.  I was the one who raised the issue.  Don’t worry we’ll get this settled soon.  I’m just tired of scrolling through all the mindless threads on Garden Chat to find Potting Shed.

Robbie – sorry to hear the news your sister got.  I don’t remember where the tumor was? Colon?

    Off to PT now.

Good morning all.  Snow covered scene before my eyes.  Will be melting before long and likely has started since I see clumps falling from the trees.

Yesterday at 4 I went out to shovel/plow the driveway so Dan could arrive home.  Spent an hour out there.  Cleared the steepest parts and created a pattern on the rest so his tires could get traction.  He went out this morning to do the rest.  He was very grateful for what I did.  I paid for it later in my heel.  Ouch did it hurt.  Feeling better this morning. Another PT at 1 pm today.

Stewart – you won’t see this until you get to England, but we’ll sit tight here.

Marge – I know it sounds like Stewart is scolding you but he is only concerned that we’ll get treated roughly again.

Lately Garden Chat is dominated but a couple of people and filled with messages back and forth that could have been better handled if BnB reinstituted the private message feature.  There were all these groups pushed together here and I guess BnB thought we’d meld into one but it didn’t happen. Marge and Maxine are the only two that joined us.  Stella was here for awhile but then stopped.  And truth be told I tried to post on some of the other threads but it just too much to try to keep new names straight.  I’ll stick with you all that I already know.

Dave – you made the move here fine.  If we do move over to Veggie, you’ll be able to see the posts easier.

Here I am in my pjs still.  Got up quick to make breakfast for Dan before he left at 7:45.  Then did my heel exercises and iced.  Must get moving on this day.

    Take care friends.

Stewart – maybe we should try it out and see what they do. Or maybe you should ask again.  Nothing has been posted on Veggie for two weeks and Marge who is one of our regulars is the biggest Veggie poster right now.

Dave – could you find Veggie Gardening if we moved there? On the side bar List of Forums, it’s under Gardening.

Sherry – sorry didn’t see you’d posted again. So much other traffic (junk!) on this site that daily threads get pushed really fast to page 2. I sometimes think we should move over to Veggie to keep that alive.

Robbie – I hope your sis gets good news.

Tigsy – raccoon was probably looking for grubs or worms.  Since the pots were near the house they weren’t frozen.

No snow yet and its almost noon.  Sky is grey like snow.  Must check the weather map.

Good morning. Snow forecast today from a clipper moving through from west to east.  One forecast had it starting at 8 but we’ve got sun peeking through clouds and some blue sky right now.

Had a raccoon visitor last night.  tapped on the window while I watched State of the Union.  Didn’t realize until this morning what it was up to.  I t went digging in the pots I had stored on the deck.  There’s dirt all over.  I’ll take photos later to post on the blog.  What a mess.

Must finish the newsletter today and email it off to guy who prints it.  I’m hopping he can do a fast turnaround so I can get it done and mailed before I travel to NH on the 4th.

Kathy – what did the doctor say?  You doing okay?

Stewart & Wendy – safe traveling.

Sherry – did you see I posted a photo of the bush – wiegela – yesterday?

Robbie – how is your sister?

Brenda – not long now before Jason comes to visit.  He hasn’t met Mark has he?

Must think about getting dressed.  Birdfeeders need filling before the snow comes.

    Later.

Sherry – had to look on my blog to find the name of the bush: wiegela  Here it is blooming in my pond garden.  My mother in law gave it to me.  I’d never heard of it before that.  I forgot I can post the photo here, too.

Good morning.  To be a gray day here.  Snow coming in tomorrow or so they report.

Had my first PT yesterday and came home afterward exhausted.  I’m to do exercises 3x/day and ice my heel and calf 3x/day.  I’m icing now as I did the exercise before getting out of bed.  Heel feeling somewhat better already.  I go again today at noon and then Thursday at 1.  Boy this ice is cold!

Sherry – sounds like Snow gave you a good selection of bushes to choose from.  I have a bush whose name escapes me at the moment that has lovely flowers in the spring.  If I think of the name I’ll let you know.

Emily is planning a 1st birthday party for Annabelle which I’ll get to be there for.  Yeah!  So looking forward to that but need to get some comfortable shoes before I go.  Though maybe by then I can wear the ones I have because the hell will be better.  Here’s hoping.

Marge – amazing to have the governor not take a salary.  I think Bloomberg did that when he was mayor of NYC.

Fred – despite PT doesn’t sound like your dad is making much improvement.  He is getting PT right?  How old is he now?  Has he been back to the house for a visit since his fall?

Snow – does your DD have a date for the wedding?

Okay 15 min of ice is up.  I better get up and get dressed.

    take care.

Good morning.  Weather forecasters say sunny today but we’ve been having light snow this past hour.  I hope it warms up because I need to get down my driveway to go to my PT appointment. Need to get this foot fixed.

Stewart – safe travels for you and Wendy.  Will we hear from you once you’re back in England?

Hasn’t anyone else had to keep signing in here?  Seems like every morning now I’m no longer signed in and then later in the day I have to do it again.

Laundry going now I need to get dressed.

Good Sunday morning.  Rain here today.

Happy Anniversary, Stewart.  I know I have that list somewhere of whose birthday and anniversary is when but not going looking for it right now.

If you read the thread I started about how Maxine is doing, I got an answer there from Sharon who sees the daughter’s FB postings.  Improvement for her.

SHerry – if your system works from C to F why not then subtract 30 and half that amount to do the reverse?

That’s it for now.  Time for my cup of tea and then shower.  It’s church for us this morning.
