Good morning all.  Haze in the sky is the humidity.

Sarah’s plane was really delayed but she made it home.  text showed she landed at 11 and was in the car with William by midnight.  What a trip.

I’m headed to Annapolis, MD to an art store this morning with a friend and then lunch out.

Kind of groggy yet this morning.  Need a tea boost.

    Later.

Sarah’s plane took off over 3 hours late.  I texted her and she said the delay was because of lightning storms.  William will pick her up.

Just cleaned my refrigerator inside and out.  It needed it.  Then cleaned the stove top and the sinks.  Laundry going.  Making a grocery list and other errand list.  Heading out after lunch.

Robbie – I guess you don’t carry a purse?  I do even with Dan since I need to have the EPI pen in case of wasp sting.

Tigsy – what’s the occasion that sons coming?  Or just a visit home with laundry to be done?  Do they do that?  Sarah would when she was in the apartment because she saved money doing it here and she didn’t like going to basement of the apartment.  Now she and William have a washer/dryer so no laundry comes here.

    Time for lunch.

Good morning.  Last night someone poured buckets of water on our roof!  LOL.  It sure did rain.  Woke us both up.  Pond needed a filling anyway and plants needed a dosing.  Supposed to have more rain today.  Fine with me. AC back on and chores to do inside.

Sherry – thanks for the update on Stewart’s computer.  I had hoped that was the issue and not something more serious.  Glad you have that connection with Wendy.  Mom moving again.  Won’t she be taking a loss to sell now.  It’s been under a year right?

Brenda and Kathy and Dave – stay cool down there.

I see Rob checked in on his birthday message to thank us all.

Waiting for Sarah’s flight to take off.  It’s delayed.

    I’ll return later.

It’s another sunny day here with temps up high in 80s to 90s.

We went to a movie last night.  It was shown on the side of a building which is now a wine shop.  We brought our own chairs and set them in the parking lot.  The movie was a Disney – Frozen.  We’ve never seen it.  They had wine tasting inside which we sampled and then purchased a red and a white to bring home.  They offered popcorn and water for a donation to a local charity.  It was fun!  We’ll try to go again this summer.

Nothing much doing today except church.  Enjoying the katydids at night now and during the day we hear cicadas.  Ah, the sounds of summer.

Sarah heads home from China tomorrow.  Yeah!

That’s it from here .  Have a nice Sunday.

Good morning.  Cool one but heat coming.

Didn’t sleep so well last night.  Though cool outside the heat was slow leaving the bedroom.  I think the AC will be going back on today.

Mary – nice to see you here so early.  Wish my DDs lived closer to come take me to breakfast every Saturday!.  Are there two or three daughters?  And how did everyone end up in KY?

Stewart – is Graham not coming to visit this summer?  Looking forward to those photos.

    One week to vacation time!

Believe it or not I booked tickets this week for our Europe trip next June.  Flight prices were low so I couldn’t diddle.  Had to call my brother to get his okay to book 4 tickets from Helsinki to Budapest for $88 each!  And a nonstop flight!  Other flights were much longer with stopovers and for almost 2 and 3 x the fare.  He said yes, so got those.  We will travel to Helsinki, then Budapest where we get the river cruise then stopover in Munich before traveling home.  Be gone 2 weeks total.  And we can say we’ve been to Iceland because we are flying Icelandic Air with plane changes in Iceland both going and coming home.

Days are getting shorter.  Sun hasn’t topped the trees yet this morning.  Oh, now here it comes.

    Take care where you are.

Just in from garden work.  Had to shower well since I sprayed Liquid Fence.  I discovered a flaw in the engineering of my fishing line deer deterrent.  I was counting on a brush fencing to keep them out of one part forgetting that brush gives way.  Saw their footprints, saw what they ate and had to take remedies.  Now have put the fishing line up across where the brush fence is and then sprayed really heavily with Liq. Fence.

Marge – not worried about the little rabbit.  Deer are my bigger headache.

God morning all.  Another clear cool start to the day here.  Will have high temps but can manage them.  Return of the miserable weather conditions start tomorrow.

No response from Rob on his birthday wishes yesterday.  Keggy’s birthday is next Friday.  Hope she stops by again.

Kathy – where ya been?  And Leann too?

Frogs are croaking about something this morning.  There was also a little bunny on the grass out back eating the clover.  I’m sure it’s the one that can fit through the wire fencing holes to nibble on beans.  When it gets bigger it won’t fit.

I have the sprinkler on the veg garden.  I’m not having anyone come by to water for me when we are gone that week in August.  I think it will be fine.  I’ll give it a good soaking ahead of time.  We had yellow and green summer squash from the garden yesterday, steamed it and put a dollop of butter on to eat it.  Delicious.

Plan to spend time weeding the pathways and beds in the perennial garden this morning and will likely run the electric lawn mower over the back lawn.

Fred – you take on quite a bit on your plate.  I hope the guests at the lake house pitch in with food prep and all.  Is the iris sale this week too?

Brenda – I’d like to see the before and after of Mark and the new look.  take care in the heat.

Leroy – nice find of the gift cards.  Is your AC giving you trouble or does it require yearly servicing?  I’ve only had mine serviced when they didn’t work.  Today the boiler which provides our hot water and heats the water for the radiant floor heating will be serviced.  That’s done yearly because of the burner in there.

Time for a cup of tea and some breakfast.  Enjoy!  It’s Friday!

Good morning. Birds are calling to each other.  Day has a nice cool start to it.  I sat out on the deck with my cup of tea and finished reading “Copper Beech” by Maeve Binchy.  I had one chapter to go when I had to put it down yesterday to pick up Dan.

AC is off here too.  Read in the NY Times that US is so much more dependent upon AC than the rest of the world.  Lots of energy used to provide us with cool air.  Europeans scoff at our dependence upon it.  It’s true that often times the temps are kept too low.  Like yesterday evening at the theatre I had to wear a sweater to stay warm enough.  I usually have it off except when humidity gets unbearable.

Haircut this morning then entangle club this afternoon.  It’s been a fairly quiet week for me.  Just over one more week before vacation trip on the 1st.  Looking forward to having the whole family together and spending that time with all of them especially Annabelle.

    see ya later.

Sherry – I remember a farmer telling us that green peppers and eggplants can be picked at any size.  They will eventually turn red, but if you like their size pick them.

Good morning.  We had rain last night.  Now the sky is clear blue.  I haven’t checked the forecast but I’m hoping I can turn off the AC if the humidity has gone. The morning looks like a beautiful day on its way.

Taking Dan to work then walking the lake.  Must stop at the library and the grocery store before I get back home.  We’re doing the opera again tonight – The Merry Widow this time.

Newsletter for August is done and delivered to the guy who prints it in his basement.  My group of ladies will assemble it after we return from vacation.

TIgsy – do you have other mulberry trees?  Aren’t those fruit good to eat?  I have hazelnut trees loaded with nuts this year.  Those came from Arbor Day Foundation.  I’ve only managed to harvest one time but maybe this year.

I picked beans and squash form the garden yesterday morning.  We had the beans last night.  Very good.  My tomato plants are in a race with the blight.  I won’t have the bumper crop of tomatoes like I had last year.  The healthiest plant is the volunteer at my compost bin.  I thought it was a Juliette but the fruit is getting bigger than that.

Must make Dan’s lunch and think about what’s for breakfast.  Enjoy your day!

Good morning all.  Overcast here.  Hot again with T-storms this afternoon.

Stewart – sorry about your computer.  Was that your newest one?  I hope it wasn’t because of your photos.

Dave – you looked and didn’t buy at the auction?

We had a nice trip to DC though it was hot and Dan got pretty green on the subway in and back out.  If we do this again we will have to drive in.  He gets motion sick and though he didn’t throw up he was feeling poorly.

Lots of people there.  We went to the exhibit on Human Origins and then to American Innovation. Had a quick lunch in between.  I plan to write a blog on our visit.  Though not anytime today until I finish the August newsletter.

Woke with a migraine this morning.  Hoping the meds will take effect soon.

    C U Later.

Happy Birthday, Fred.  I posted this as a separate thread, too!  Hope you get lots of greetings.

Good morning all.  Hot.  Nothing else to say about the weather.

We had a great weekend visit with William.  He went home after supper last night.

Today Dan and I are going to DC to the Smithsonian to see some exhibits.  Leaving very soon.

    Check back on our return.

Good morning.  HOT on tap today!

Tigsy – Sarah had to go to China for work.  She’ll be back on the 27th.  We had her on Skype last night at the table with us while we played a card game.  It was like she was there.  No delay in the transmission.

Brenda- so sorry for the heat where you are.  Happy birthday to your friend Katie.  Can’t believe she’s still planning on driving somewhere.

Mary – welcome back.  Glad you had a nice time in FL.

Stewart – in photo bucket click select the photo you want to post then under “share links” select direct link.  It will come up copied when you click on it.  On this page click on the photo link (Last one on right) and paste in the direct link you copied.  Then click done and it should show up here.

Must make us some breakfast before church.  Have a good one.
