Good morning all.  Iced in here this morning.  Dan is out scraping but can’t get the last layer of ice off.  Warming temps would be a help right now.  No chance my making that 7:30 bloodworm appointment.  I’ll need to call them soon.

Welcome back, Leroy aka Hopscotch.  Welcome too to Linda.

Kathy – have you tried Safari?  Also when was the last time you downloaded the newest versions of the browsers you are using?  Robbie said she has had similar troubles here.

Stomach is growling but can’t eat until I know if I have that bloodworm yet this morning.  Must make Dan’s lunch.

    I’m tired of winter.

Snow has switched to freezing rain now.  There will be a crust on top of the snow.

Welcome, Linda.  First time posting here on Potting Shed?

Leeann – just went through the wedding planning with my youngest daughter.  That happened at the end of December.  Went perfectly and weather cooperated too.

Robbie – I know I stay in pjs late but all day I couldn’t manage unless I was sick which I haven’t been in awhile.  I don’t count the sore heel as sick.

Quiet day here at our house.

Maxine – continued prayers for your recovery.  Your wish has come true.  Stewart has brought the Potting Shed here so there will be more traffic on this site.

Good morning, Stewart & Sherry and all that beat me to posting or post after me!

The Potting Shed made it to Veggie Gardening!  Yeah!  I hope that some of our irregulars can find their way here: Robbie, Keggy & Red.  Also well wishes to Maxine (Albertagran).  I hope in her recovery she will be able to get back to visiting with us and gardening too.

Speaking of gardening, not much of that happening here outside anytime soon.  Another winter event on its way here and may be arriving as I type.  I think this one hit Tigsy first.  Different forecasts on what’s to happen.  One forecaster said it will be a repeat of what happened last Saturday when we got 9 inches.  Nat’l Weather Service warning not as dire.  Wait and see.  I just hope I can get out tomorrow at 7 am for a 7:30 blood work appointment.  I have a physical scheduled for the following Monday morning.

We had a nice time at brunch yesterday.  Then went and stayed in line at the car wash for almost an hour.  While we waited we spoke to Sarah.  She came home from Singapore on Friday to their place by 5 and went to sleep at 6, woke briefly at 11 when William came to bed and then got up Saturday at 11 am.  I think she was bushed from the long travel and the intense week of work.

The rest of the evening was mostly spent being Dan’s model.  He’s taking a portrait drawing class and needed to do two drawings: profile and a 3/4 view.  While I sat I was planning out how to make a brush fence to deter the deer from making their way through the backyard.

I haven’t decided if I’m starting lettuce and such inside this year.  I did it for the first time last year but can’t recall if it made much difference.  Anyone have an opinion?

Stewart – thanks for making the move!  I like your opening.  I see you got your weather to work too.  Will Wendy be posting again?

We are going to stay put here today.  Waiting on the weather to decide how bad it will be.

    Enjoy your Sunday.

p.s. I see after I posted that Dave beat me here.  Glad you made it over the garden fence so to speak.

Good morning.  We got sun here but something in the forecast again for overnight.  When will it end?

Looking forward to the move to Veggie Gardening. I’m all packed to go. LOL

We are off to a brunch this morning.  Had a banana and now a cup of tea to tide me over till 10:30.    Friend from church is hosting.  She and her DH used to do it in December every year.  He died last March and she couldn’t face doing it in Dec. but she is continuing tradition and hosting it now. Her DH was the cook in the family.

Brenda – good to hear from you.  Glad you didn’t get the 7.5 inches of snow.  Did you solve the disappearing hen problem?  Is the chicken coop locked now?

Sherry – that sounds like a huge tv.  Enjoy.

Kathy – hope you’re getting your Saturday morning nap.  So nice of those boys to bring in the wood for you.  There’s a new poster on Veggie Garden from TX interested in raised beds.  Hope you can give her some advice.

See you all tomorrow at our new location.

Marge – my raised beds came from Gardeners Supply.

Dave – not familiar with Greenland Gardener.

Leann – I know I have seen raised beds using cinder blocks but not sure how well they would work to keep moisture in.  Here’s a blog about gardening in Texas.  I know they put in raised beds.  they didn’t use cinder blocks though.

Wow it says I posted this at 8:42 but by my clock it’s 9:42.  I guess that’s central time.

Good morning.  Mixture of clouds and sun out there.  Patches of blue.  Will climb to freezing or above I think.

Stewart – glad you got the go ahead.  We really need to get over there.  Today I had to scroll almost to the bottom of the first page to find this thread.  We don’t use the word allotment here.  I think those gardens are called community plots. I’ve never had one, but they are a boon to folks with little or no land who want to garden.

Raccoons have been a visible presence of late.  They are sharing the hole the ground hog had.  Today there’s a big spot of snow dug up beside the swing.  Don’t those critters know the ground is frozen?

Fred – how does that restaurant use the quail eggs?  I hope you get a good price for them.  You liking your new furniture?

Sarah is on her way back from Singapore.  Her flight arrives this afternoon.  I’ll be glad to have her back stateside.  Hope to see her next week for lunch.

Still in my pjs.  Anyone else in that state still?  Robbie?

Hello Leeann.  I garden in Maryland.  I use raised beds that I purchased from Gardeners Supply made of high grade plastic.  They’ve held up well.  You may want to check them out.

Hope you’ll continue to stop by here.

Good morning. More snow this morning. Another stay at home day.  PT postponed.  Our trace of snow is moving towards 2 inches very fast.

Brenda – did you get snow?  Weather map was showing it for MS.

Good, Stewart!  March 1 it is to Veggie Garden.  May have to double post for a bit till everyone gets the word.

Want to FaceTime with Annabelle.  It’s been awhile and I have withdrawal symptoms. LOL

Marge – yes I could plant those veg soon if there was no snow on the ground and the ground was thawed.  I have raised beds which  do thaw earlier.

Just ordered seeds.  See Veggie Gardening.

Marge – forecast is saying we may get some of what is passing to the east that begins with S tomorrow morning.

Tigsy – my sister lives in the town my mom lived in.  Bonnie retired to the same retirement comity thinking she’d be close by Mom.  Bonnie moved in the summer before Mom died.  It’s 90 miles from here.  She did forget.  Funny because she was the one who said she’d missed seeing me since she was gone all December then sick for the wedding.  I made a delicious vegetable soup too.

    Good morning.  Cold again.

Not many stopovers here today.  When are we making the move Stewart?

My sister was to come to visit but I haven’t heard from her.  She must have forgotten.  Typical.

Bunch of little stuff to do.

    That’s it for now.

Afternoon.  Just came back from PT and grocery store.  Sat down to check messages and realized I hadn’t stopped by here this morning.

Welcome back to France Stewart & Wendy.

Brenda – sounds like you and Kathy have got the wintry weather now.  Thanks for the offer of the mouser.

Caught two mice last night.  I found one in our deep bathtub so moved the trap in there.  We heard it snap before we fell asleep.  I took it out his morning.  Hope the fox finds its carcass.  The other got it on the hearth with the old-fashioned traps Dan bought.  There were two of thos traps on the hearth and again, mouse ate off the peanut butter but got slammed on the second trap.  Tossed the whole thing, carcass and trap in the trashcan and sealed it up.  New traps I purchased yesterday will do the job.  I’ve set up two more on the hearth and lots along the walls in the garage. Cold weather is driving them inside.

I need a nap.  Woke at 3:30 this morning and didn’t get back to sleep until after 5.  Working a problem.  Got it solved and spoke to my brother and he is on board.  Fill you in another time.
