Good morning all.  Bright sun today.  We had rainstorm overnight but not as bad as south of here.

Brenda – Ouch!  As a nurse I’m sure you know how to care for that wound.  Sure limits your activity.

Tigsy – how neat that your DS is a vicar now.  Is he your oldest?

Stewart – I imagine the heat where you are is unusual.  Be sure to drink lots of water while you’re out in it.

Woke up this morning off balance.  Not dizzy.  Strange sensation.  Not sure what’s up.

Had a nice trip to Arboretum but federal budget cuts were evident there with areas not mown.  Bonsai was lovely.  I’ll work at posting some photos on the blog now since I can’t go outside with the way I’m feeling.

Good morning.  High clouds with a mix of sun.  Temps rising today.  Rain maybe this afternoon.

Put up totally new line between the stone wall and the arbor.  With all the rain the post I was tying it to had begun to lean so had to move it where I could drive it in deeper away from the cement footer for the wall.  I think I have enough high and low to keep the fawn out.

Still no Brenda.  Hope she’s okay.

Sherry – insulation is a good idea especially in your climate.

Robbie – bet that lobster was tasty.  Haven’t had one in a long time.

Dave – no beans yet here.  I do see the buds forming.  Grape tomatoes are nice and green.  Found a tomato hornworm on the volunteer tomato plant.  I should have drowned it but tossed it on the driveway.  When I went looking for it, no sign of it.  Maybe a bird had a nice supper.  Either that or that critter was crawling back to the tomato. LOL

Must head to the shower to get ready to go to the Arboretum.  I’ll take photos for the blog.

Can’t remember if I posted this already.  I know its on my blog and that’s where I pick these up from.  Must take some more photos but have other more pressing concerns first.

Enjoy the bees, butterflies and butterfly weed.

Good morning.  Lovely day today. Was yesterday too after the terrible rains of Saturday.

Heading out to restring the fishing line where the fawn made it through on Friday, then off to eye doctor to get these new glasses better adjusted.  I have my old ones on right now because I can’t read the text on the computer as well with the new.  Wonder if they gave me the correct prescription.

Laundry going, third load already!  Groceries need to be purchased too.  Full day.

Tomorrow going to National Arboretum.  Taking a friend.  Her birthday is the 4th.  There’s to be a bonsai exhibit there and lots of flowers and plants.  Parking and entry are free!  The best kind of field trip.

Lovely beans, Dave.  I need to check on mine to see if they have even flowered.  I know I have some small green tomatoes out there.  Garlic is almost ready to be pulled too.

Stewart – can’t wait to see the total reveal of what you’ve been working on.

Kathy – enjoy the visit of the youngsters.

Sherry – I bet your garden survived.

Snow – hadn’t heard about the festival.  Glad you were able to make the drive with your tractor.

Tigsy – did you ever say how you celebrated your birthday?

That’s it.  Need to get going.

    Where’s Brenda?

Good morning.  Sunny skies today.  Good.

What a rain we had yesterday!  My gauge shows 3 inches.  The pond is full.  A tree came down on our driveway.  The lane flooded when the creek overflowed.  It ate away some of the asphalt.  A huge log that had been stuck in the culvert under our driveway was pushed through by the force of the water in that small creek.  Everything is dripping wet this morning.

The movie Inside Out was very good.  There were definitely two levels to it: kids and adults.  Great representation for how the brain works with memories and emotions.  Worth seeing.

Spent the rest of the day reading “A Week in Winter” by Maeve Binchy.  It was good.  Her last book.  She died in 2013.

Church this morning then lunch out with friends afterward.  What’s your plan today?

Good morning, Stewart and others.  Woke to a gentle sounding rain.  Dan says its to do it all day today. Much better to have it come sown this way that the pouring rain we have been having.

We are going to a movie later this morning.  The new pixar movie “Inside Out” I think its called.  Got rave reviews and not really a children’s movie.  We’ll have a late breakfast here and an early dinner then.

Did find something to do yesterday.  Got my new glasses and went to the library.  It was a nice relaxing day.

Last night after dinner Dan and I were enjoying our books and a cup of tea each when he said “Look there”.  We were sitting on the deck in rocking chairs and my back was turned to what he saw.  I looked and there down at the other end of the deck was a small fawn.  I think it was very curious about us.  I shooed it away and it went scampering through the perennial garden into the corner where Dan’s study is.  There was no exit there so it reversed direction, knocking over a gazing ball and then went through the fishing line.  Gazing ball amazingly didn’t shatter to pieces and I’m not sure how the fawn didn’t get itself tangled in the fishing line.  I hope I scared it enough not to return to the backyard.  It’s likely the fawn we saw the other morning.  The doe this time was no where to be seen.  I was going to add to the fishing line fence this morning but that’s before I knew it was raining today.

Here’s view of the backyard from the perennial garden.  The fawn was just passed the first wooden vertical beam and we were sitting down at the other end near the screen door.  What a tiny thing it was but it will grow up to be a garden pest!

    Happy Saturday!

Good morning.  Sitting on the deck with a cup of tea, enjoying the bird songs and the buzzing of the hummingbird coming to the feeder above me.  Sky is overcast, breeze is cool though humidity is climbing.  We had more pairing rain last night.  Why can’t it give some to CA first?

Feeling exceptionally lazy today.  Dan is home, his Friday off.  He’ll be out working on his landscape painting later.  There are lots of “should do” items I could do, but you know when you’re retired they can wait until that “feel like it” stage.  Yesterday I did clean out the garage.  Looks a lot better too.

Hope your Friday is more productive or as lazy as mine. :)

Just looked back at all of Thursday’s pics.  Charlene, those lollipop lilies are lovely.  I’m waiting for some new ones to open.  I got them last year when I ordered my garlic and then forgot that I had even planted them last year.  I think it was an assortment but what colors? Who knows.

My flowers are mostly perennials.  I’ve given up on pots of annuals because they need so much watering.  I’ll have to take some photos of the sedums and grasses in my pots.

My marigolds are all volunteers in the veg garden.  Buds just now forming.  When I see them germinate I move them where I want them to be.

Anyone else have astilbe in bloom?  Love this color.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, TIGSY!  Have a great day!

Morning all.  Bright sun pouring in my window.  Must lower the shade soon or it will really heat me up.  Chance of rain everyday through the weekend.  I think we’ve had enough of that.

Feeling lazy today!  Though do plan to attend a gathering this afternoon of the Zentangle club. Click on my link if you want to know what that’s about.

Well, maybe if I have some breakfast I feel inspired to do something productive this morning.

Where’s Marge been?  Also Kathy and Leann?  Robbie, you reading and not posting?  Good to see Maxine here.

Leroy – hope the surgery goes well for you.

Fred – does the escape to the Lake give you time to slow down?

    That’s all for now.

Snow – lovely clematis.  Mine is done blooming for the year.  It also has some sort of blight.

Steve – thanks for the welcome.  I’ve posted here when Potting Shed was here before.  I’ll try to be more regular.  I also post photos on my blog so  these are repeats from that.

Lilies are taking the stage here now.  Sorry I can’t keep the names in my head.  I just enjoy them for their beauty.  The last photo is what I call Easter lilies.  They smell lovely.

Maxine – how are you managing by yourself there at home?  Anyone come in to help you?  You mentioned that your computer would be down soon so I guess that means your renovations will happen.  That’s good.

I had a lovely lunch with Sarah at a local bookstore/cafe.  I had a spinach salad which had an assortment of berries plus wheat berries.  Delicious!

Waiting on Dan to arrive home soon.  Have enjoyed a nap on the porch.  Lovely weather.  Wish it were like this all summer.  My favorite spot is that screen porch.

    Enjoy your evening, friends.

Back again.  Took care of some garden issues.  If you read my blog you’ll read about a fawn that made it into the garden.  I had to string more fishing line lower down to block access.  Then I sprayed liquid fence.

It’s a beautiful day here today.  I’m off in a bit to Sarah’s for lunch and to see her first veg garden.

We had a terrific storm here last night but luckily no hail and winds. 1.5 inches of rain.

I hope the folks who have been absent of late are doing okay.

Early birthday greetings to Tigsy.  Tomorrow is your day.  Hope your family has a big celebration for you!

    See you later.

Good morning Stewart.  Heavy rainstorm last night has cleared the air.  I have the windows open to the birdcalls.

Need to make breakfast but wanted to post this photo that is one of many on the blog I just wrote. This phlox came from Snow. Thank you, Snow.
