Stella….things are looking so green at your house!  You are a few weeks ahead of us, but I guess you are in zone 5.  I am patiently waiting for growth and green like you have!  Thanks for sharing and i look forward to more pics next month.  Charlene

I also can only see the white daffs and the last pic….and both are lovely.  I assume if you are showing photos of the Tiger lilies that i shared that they must have survived.

I cannot give you any advice on photo bucket, but I know others have had the same thing that says the photo has been deleted or moved…..did you move them?  If so, you can edit and re-add them from the new album….or at least I think you can.  I’d love to see your pics.  Charlene

Good morning everyone.  We are overcast (rain in the forecast) and 58º, but there is a chilly wind.  South of us had bad storms last night with large hail….glad that didn’t hit here.  Wonder if Lair got it?

Molly….don’t you hate that when people borrow things and don’t return them?  DH’s brother and wife are the worst…..I quit lending them things years ago because we never got it back.  That is a pet peeve of mine.

Wendy…new tires, microwave and fridge!  It is almost like Christmas, isn’t it? The discount certainly is a plus when shopping….I like shopping at Sears.  I bet you are enjoying having Mom & Dad back in town again.

Sandy….enjoy your day off….I suppose you have to work the weekend?  Our lilacs are just leafing out now….but it won’t be long until we see buds.  I see our rhubarb is up and growing good….can hardly wait!

Another day in my shop….ho hum, ho hum……Have a good day everyone.

Thinking of Karen today….hope all goes well…..that family may have some tough decisions to make.

    Charlene

Steve….that is beautiful!  I don’t recall ever seeing any of those in our area….maybe not hardy for here.

Mary….love that Rhododendron…..the pretty bloom reminds me of Alstroemeria….lovely.

Molly….those bright colored primroses sure brighten up a yard, don’t they?

Sandy….very lovely daffs….and you just planted them last fall?  Pretty.

I have another flower blooming….and you’ve probably already guessed what it is….another crocus:

I wish I could help, but my climbing hydrangea is 13 yrs old and never bloomed.  DB (Lair) gave it to me for tending some of his plants when he moved to Iowa from Colorado in 2000.  Like yours, mine is big and healthy, but just won’t bloom.  I will see what advice you get from others.  Charlene

Karen….I am so sorry for what you and your family are going through.  I wish I could give you some “fix it recipe”….but it is easier said than done.

Is it possible to have a family meeting of the 5 sisters?……no spouses allowed.  Start with a group hug….then all vent without getting out of control.  Maybe you could come up with 2 plans….plan “A” and plan “B”.  Then 2 of you should be chosen to present the plans to your Mom (2 that she may listen to).  I have found that when people are given choices they respond better than when they are being told “you should do this…..or you need to do that”.

This is just s thought….I have no idea….fortunately I have never had to wear these shoes.  I sincerely feel for all of you having to deal with family problems like this.  Charlene

Wendy….your yard is exactly what progression pics should look like….an obvious change from month to month and I can’t believe the addition of all of the bright “green”….like Kathy said….I am also green with envy.  Looking at your pics brings back such good memories of visiting there.

I took my update pics tonight before the snow the next 2 days….GRRRRRRRRR…..I will wait and share them on anopther day….nothing pretty in mine.  Charlene

Kathy….there are better days ahead….and you know that!  For now you just need to try and find something to occupy your time off from work.  I think you should come and help me in the yard….how does that sound?  LOL  Charlene

Good evening everyone.  We had a high of 75º today, but they are screaming about a 40 degree drop in the next 24 hrs, so I spent my evening getting plants back into the GH, inside, or undercover wherever they would fit.  # inches of snow in the forecast for tomorrow night….sounds like an April Fool joke, but it will be May.  Weather man tonight had the balls to say that he hopes we get 5 inches because that would set a record…..I about broke the TV jumping into strangle him!

Stella…..I always enjoy weeding after a nice rain.  We don’t even have many weeds up yet, and I have learned that when i weed too early I end up weeding out flowers….so I wait until at least June.  It is much easier to pull a big weed…..lol

Donna…so sorry that you have been having such crappy weather.  We have had 4 nice days in a row….but we will pay for that the next few days….cold front moving in and frost for a couple nights and more snow….yuck!

Molly….I laughed about you growing potatoes in a pot….how funny!  But the roses look good!

Gayle….no job is worth the stress and hassle you have been going through.  I am sure something will come along to supplement your income without giving you major stress issues.  JMO

Del…I am glad that I motivate someone…..lol.  I have no idea what color Wildcat blue is, but I am sure it is pretty and looks good.

Off to bed for me real soon….I am really tired tonight.  Charlene

Thanks for the compliments….gotta tell you….I did not do this project the right way.  I did not buy the plastic paint that I should use….and I did not prime them with the profusion spray paint.  I just brushed the dirt off with some fine sand paper….grabbed a partial can of indoor latex paint that is about 10 yrs old from the basement….and painted them with a brush.  I figured even though it was a dooky brown it would blend with the house and all of the baskets I use for other plants…..and it cost me nothing but 1½ hr labor….good job done while I enjoyed our 1st Spring weekend outdoors.  Charlene

That happens, but don’t let it doscourage you from trying again.  I used to give dead plants a proper funeral but now it happens so much I just toss them in the compost (sometimes they grow there after I think they are dead….lol)

Lynn….these do not normally grow in the wild unless someone has thrown seed there.  I am guessing that the purple flowers that look like that and bloom early are more than likely Dame’s Rockets….often called wild phlox….but Dame’s Rockets bloom early while phlox don’t bloom until later in the year.  Charlene

I am not answering this question until I know what size the basket is….I have 4 different sizes of hanging baskets and i plant them all with a different amount of plants.  Charlene
