Ili….I think all of your containers and plants are beautiful and healthy.  You are making a fantastic transition from yard gardening to container gardening since your move.  I know you had many containers before so you were experienced, but now that is your only option…..right?  Growing plants in containers is a special skill….especially with your warmer climate.  I bet you have big muscles from carrying water to them….or do you have a good hose system?  I think everything looks great!  Charlene

I know what wonderful moisture and fertilizer this is for my gardens, but hard to look at it that way right now.  Our snow was gone about a week ago and we had temps in the 70s over the weekend….because of that some of the snow melted on contact with the ground.  I took these pictures at noon today….we continued to get more snow until about 9pm tonight….and I do hope that it is “shut off’ for the season!

Stella….you are in a warmer zone than I am in….no tropical area here.  When i 1st came to the board it was almost impossible for me to believe that people gardening in Canada were in warmer zones than me….and also the NW part of the US….still can’t believe that parts of Oregon and Washington are in zone 8….confuses me.

I know i will have flowers someday….but Mother Nature is sure messing with my mind and testing my patience!!!  LOL  Charlene

I am also having those same problems….like Alma….I have found that if I use the back arrow on the top of the page I eventually get back to the gardening site.  I normally click on the “gardening” thing at the top of the page, but that disappeared overnight….go figure.  I thought it was maybe our weather causing problems….glad to know it isn’t that.  It seems that evey time they do an update here something is screwed up afterwards….  just glad we still have the board.  Charlene

Looking really good, Sue….Spring is knocking on your door for sure….I foresee pics of lupine in the near future!  Still waiting patiently for most of my stuff to break ground….and then it will grow fast!  LOL  Charlene

I have not been able to find any pro-mix here.  Julie did tell me that their Menards store is selling it now.  I will check out our Menards…..they didn’t have it last year, but maybe they are carrying it now if other Menard stores are.  Charlene
we can show what our house changes to for the people driving by.  I don’t have pics yet, but something to think and act on when you have a chance.
Take pictures this Spring, Summer and Fall and then have a progression thread next winter when we are looking for things to “talk” about.  Charlene

Good morning everyone.  It is 47º here this morning and that is supposed to be our high temp for the day….downhill from here.  We got some rain along with thunder and lightning in the night.

Nothing big going on in my life…..just another day in the shop.  All of you with sunshine enjoy it….Wendy, I don’t blame you for taking the Friday to work…..you will still get to have the weekend off.

Have a great day everyone.  Charlene

Lovely flowers here this morning….both past and present!

Our neighbor guy works at a greenhouse.  This past weekend he brought me these coleus that they were going to throw away….102 coleus plugs.

The one Lair gave me was not the Japanese climbing hydrangea….I recall it being some kind of “snowball” or something like that.  I planted it by the Gazebo with the trumpet vine thinking the 2 of them would be pretty together.  I have never fertilized and almost scared to….that trumpet vine would really go crazy with fertilizer!  LOL  Charlene

Julie….looking good….appears your stuff is about the same as mine.  At least we are seeing signs of life and that gives us hope, doesn’t it?  You must have lots of oak trees?  They always mean lots of leaves in the Spring.  I look forward to your June 1st pics…..that is when things really start shaping up and the grass is such a pretty green.  You have a lovely yard and I envy your location….looks very secluded and serene.  Charlene

Leroy….I have a few things blooming, but not as many as you.  I spent all last evening carrying plants and seedlings into the GH….into the house….into my shop….etc.  We are already getting dropping temps and also supposed to have 30º and sleet and 3 inches of snow….will it NEVER end?  Charlene

I agree with Leslie….amazing how fast things change.  These pictures we are taking really help, though.  When we look at our gardens daily it is hard to notice how they are growing by leaps and bounds.  Everything look great, Gayle!  Charlene
