Welcome back Leroy.  I had missed you and oped you weren’t missing because of problems with your DW…..hope she is doing well at home.

Tiger lilies are very hardy……I guess if I were you, I’d plant them now.  I know I transplanted some from my Moms yard one year in mid July. Maybe wait and see what some of the others say. Charlene

Glad you got up enough nerve to “speak up and join in”.

I have a couple perennial geraniums that only get sun from 8am til noon and they do fine.

If you do plant the perennial geraniums, remember that they only bloom for a short time in the Spring. (sometimes they will rebloom if deadheaded) For more constant color all summer  you could fill in with some kind of annual every year.  Your options are endless for the type of light that area receives.  Charlene

Stella….thanks.  I have always been confused about the difference between Hardy Hibiscus and Rose of Sharon…thanks for the explanation, Molly.

When we had the get together in Iowa, Kathy “borrowed” some blue rose of sharon plants from the botanical gardens we visited.  She shared one with me.  I thought it died last year, but this Spring it came back.  I moved it to a sunnier location where it gets more sun.  Hopefully it will bloom next year.  IF it does and IF it is blue…..I will be satisfied….if not….I will be begging you for seeds, Stella, or looking for the plant.   Charlene

Very lovely pics and excellent photography today.  I especially like the unique rose with 2 colors on one bush.

Donna….what pretty flowers….and so nice to have you here and sharing with us again.

I told Del I’d share this pic:

Purple and pink Lisianthus….petunias that I saved seed from last year….and Marine Heliotrope from Del.

Linda….if you get into cross-breeding day lilies, you can name them whatever you wish and then have them registered with that name…..or at least I think that is what I read a couple years ago.  If my flowers had my friends and family’s names, they’d certainly be easier to remember their names.  Charlene

Good morning everyone.  It is a beautiful morning and we are supposed to get temps into only the mid 80s today….no chance of rain, though.

I have to work today and then go and take BFF for another walk.  I did that with her last night.  She is having trouble sleeping and I think the fresh air and exercise will tire her out and help her sleep rather than finding some kind of pill to make her sleep.  I feel medications are overused and abused way too often….and she is a perfect example of that.

Have a great day everyone….and try to enjoy what is left of summer….and don’t forget to have some fun!  Charlene

I cut mine way back when I bring them inside for the winter.  They do get a little bushier from year to year, but still need some support here because of our darn winds.  I have a 3 year old purple one that id at least 24 to 30 inches tall.  I will post a pic tomorrow on Steve’s daily thread.  Charlene

Marnee….would you like my plum pudding recipe?  LOL  Charlene

Glad you had a great day….and I hope Ted did as well.  The pony thing sounds like fun to me!  I’m sure I;d fit in as well, Gran.  Charlene

I am REALLY glad to hear that you both finally got those seeds.  I mailed them last Monday and I was beginning to wonder if I really mailed them or they were sitting somewhere hiding from me (CRS)….LOL

I made both of you the “perfect” card…glad you got a kick out of them….and I hope the poppies grow!  Charlene

Eva….I hope nothing but the best for you!  Right now my head is spinning from the terminology….you did a great job at reporting your results, but I am still confised.  Aren’t you glad that I am a Plant doctor and not your medical doctor?  Please do keep us posted.  Charlene

Gayle…..I think you may have stolen Gary’s title as “professional weed grower”….lol.  I agree….let it open a bit more before pulling it…..and wait for rainor it may never pull.  I bet it has roots to China.  Charlene

I have never tried to save seeds, but I may give it a try this year. They are sorta expensive….but I do like the fact that they are pelleted when I order them.  That tells me that they must be quite tiny.

The one you posted this morning is the same color as mine that is labeled….”red lisianthus from Del”.  I also like the color.  Charlene
I think it just depends on where you live and if a tower is close by.
Del….that is the reason I discouraged her.  There is not a tower close by at all.  I think she should stay where she is.  She has no problems with her server right now….just thought about switching because verizon was $2 per month cheaper.

Very lovely pics once again….so much fun to see everyone’s gardens here.

Steve….I have seed that color, but forgot to plant tham this year[:(]

    Gayle…pretty pots

Donna….I love those snaps.  Mine are pretty now but i guess I have failed to photograph them with all of my time spent watering.

Mmarnee….I’d be eating a few plums when they ripen for sure.

Giddeyup….my hydrangeas are not very pretty this year….they must not like heat and drought I guess

Del…very pretty!  My red is blooming and I love it….thanks.  I don’t have one of the white/purple lisianthus this year….but some of mine haven’t opened yet

Wendy….very pretty hibiscus.  Mine used to be a pretty pink like that, but it seems to get whiter eavery year.

I have a couple Abutilon….aka Flowering Maple….that seem to have more blooms than leaves.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
