Not going anywhere as of yet!  Supposed to rain half the day, too!  Used to always celebrate the 4th w/ friends and/or family.  Not the same anymore somehow.  Most likely just scrounging up or something here at home.  Maybe pork bbq that I have in freezer. Anyway, HAPPY 4TH, EVERYONE!

Here is a big and very old tree that is behind where I used to live in Lancaster.  I have heard some say George Washington either rested w/ his troops on the way to Wash DC from Philly or encamped under it.  Must be a very old tree, at least.  We had some very old maple trees at the house where I grew up.

Hi all! Cliff, like your tree pics, especially the one w/ the tree fungi!  Sharon, great tree pics, also Janet’s!  Sharon, that really is a humonguos naple tree!  Never saw anything like it!  There is a group you can report awesome trees like that for preservation.  Forget what its called but you should tell them about the tree.  They can also tell you how old it might be. Love the peach tree, Janet!  BBL!  Good theme!

Hi Stewart & everyone! Happy 4th!  Thanks for the interesting fyi about Fr and Ger, Stewart!  Sherry, I would be too tired to mow after shopping!  Shopping day was Wed for me this week but often its Fri. I am always racked out after shopping day!  Then you have to put everything away right away!  Are a lot of your lical smaller stores and businesses that are normally open on Sat closed tomorrow or for the later half of the day?  Many are here which is nice, I think!  Hi Dave!  Mary, have fun w/ dd!  Do you celebrate our 4th?  An old family friend who was English, married to an American used to put up the English flag along w/ US flag!  I had no prob w/ that!  I might have back in 1700 and early 1800s, though!  Lol!  What’s really funny about these old family friends is that their oldest dd, who was my sister’s bff growing up, was born on July 4th to her English Mom!  Ha!  Steep, sorry about garden visitor last night!  Hope those visitors wont demolish your garden when you go away in Aug!  My older sister never goes away during gardening season.  They have their garden surrounded by a 6 ft chain link fence, plus dug down for those critters.  Taking steps to look into the fencing here but maybe liquid fence is a better way to go!  BBL!
