It sounds like everyone had a busy day today. I am still getting things together to go to the beach on Sat. Not knowing what we will need as for bedding etc. we probably will have too much but that is better than not enough. I took a load of stuff to the transfer station then went to make arrangements for my truck to be serviced, when DD got home from work we took a truck load of her things to the transfer station and then took the truck to leave overnight for service. Came home and cleaned the pool it was actually too cool for me to even get into the water. I made two batches of Vidalia Marmalade to take with us. Stella I hope you have good luck tomorrow. And Kathy I hope you don’t have a big expense for your car. I know if I had to pay that I would be in your shoes..totally screwed! I think it might be an early night for me..so much to do tomorrow so I need a good night’s sleep.

Melissa believe me you don’t want to see the before pics, it would give you nightmares. I will try to get some pictures of the new spaces when they are finished.

That explains how I got so many different shades of zinnias from you. I love every one of them but didn’t get any of the fuzzy ones or the singles. I suspect the singles might come back true next year, it looks like it was one of the original plants that they used to cross with others. I love it when we get surprises! How I ended up with a single purple bloom, nothing like the white lisianthus that I put into the pot and didn’t resemble anything else I grew. Must have been the same pack of lisianthus seeds that produced the Malabar Spinach plant too.

Good Morning Wendy, Leslie, Kathy and all..we are supposed to be cooler here too and I love it. I haven’t had a problem YET with losing posts but now that I said it I probably will:(
Lots to do today to get ready to head out to Nags Head on Sat. I tried to get the oil changed in the truck yesterday but he was closed..place was locked up tight…so I have to find a different place for that today. Of course they are predicting rain for Saturday too! I finally got all of the laundry finished last night, did some grocery shopping yesterday so there will be dog and cat food for next week. It would be so much easier just to stay home and not have to drag all of that “stuff” down there but it is what it is and I am sure once we get there we will have a great time.
I hope you all have a great day.

That takes me waaay back, I used to have a vette convertible, it was nice as long as the weather stayed good, the entire top lifted off to make it convertible. Got caught more than once in that thing but it was fun! I worked for a guy who bought old cars, refurbished them and sold them, I don’t remember what color mine was but he painted it gold before I bought it.

Good Morning Wendy, Dave, Kathy and all…it is going to be hot today but cooler weather coming in tomorrow and that makes me happy. I have so much to do today that it kept me awake until after 2 am last night. So I am dragging this morning but have to get busy. If I get half of what is on my list I will be doing well. Kathy I am so glad you are finally going to be able to move into your house, don’t try to do it all at one time, enjoy it. I am sorry about your clematis, I would be sick about that too. Time for rabbit stew!!! Have a great day all.

What wonderful neighbors you two are! You did such a great job for her and I know she appreciates it more than she can say. Maybe you would like to be my neighbors for a couple of weeks??? Great Job both of you.

I moved here when DGD was in first grade and we did everything together. Today she is 17, has a posse of friends and a car so I don’t see much of her any more. So treasure all of the times you have with yours while they last.

Wendy I have the worx trimmer and I love it! The power lasts about the same time my back gives out so that is a good thing. I would not go back to the electric ones if you paid me. I am so far behind on trimming, even mowing some areas so it will be awhile before I catch that all up. But I am going to be gone all of next week so that won’t happen very soon.

None of my agastache came back this year, I thought all 12 of my Confederate Roses died too but I do have 5 left they are still small but hoping they will bloom later, I also thought my fig tree died but that came back from the roots, there probably won’t be any figs this year but at least it is still alive. My big bay tree died too. I thought most of my ginger was gone too but it finally came back up but so far it hasn’t bloomed. Some of these plants have lived here since I have and this past winter was just too much for them.

I worked at the food auction until around 2:00, came home and had to find room in the freezer for $110.00 worth of steaks and some frozen brussels sprouts that we want to take to the beach next weekend. Gee I had to dig the ice cream out and eat that because there wasn’t room in the freezer:))
I was going to clean the pool when I got home but it started to rain, and it is a nice steady rain so I won’t complain the kind of rain that makes me wish I could take a nap but I have too much to do and I wouldn’t sleep tonight if I did that. I did some much needed cleaning in the house, it has been so neglected with me working at the parsonage all of the time. Still have a couple of loads of laundry to finish.

Good Morning Wendy and all…it is going to be a hot day here but I will be working at the auction today so not much getting done here…again! I did get the lawn mowed yesterday before the mower decided it didn’t want to finish the greenhouse area but at least I got that much done. I need to stop volunteering for so many things but this is to help pay for the repairs on the parsonage so it is a good cause. Wendy I love hearing about the little girl being so excited over the hummers! So far I only have 3 here, but they entertain the cat that sits in the window and watches them. As long as he stays inside it will be ok. I hope everyone has a great day, prayers continue for good news for Charlene and all who need them.

I fired myself from the parsonage, they are laying sub floors throughout so after some touch up painting there was nothing more for me to do for a few days, they will be putting in the new flooring next…soooo I am going to go get gas and mow the hay field that used to be my lawn.
As for the frozen food auction, there is a company that provides frozen foods to most of the grocery stores in the SE, they bring a truck load of frozen foods to an auction, one of our church members is a certified auctioneer( didn’t know there was certificationes) so he will do the auction tomorrow. We will set up for that tonight. I am going to order steaks, bacon, sausage to take to the beach next week to feed all of the relatives that will be there. They have a lot of frozen seafood also but we will be at the beach where we can get fresh seafood there.

OH MY!! You have some gorgeous flowers there! Amazing what a difference it makes when they get more sun and they aren’t competing with tree roots for water and nourishment.
