I’ve been cooking meals since my Mom when to work when I was 15.  That’s 54 yr., so not so much anymore.  Even though it’s been just me for the last 11 yr. the only reason I cook is because I have to eat.  LOL

It never was a favorite thing for me anyway.  My DH was never one to give compliments on a meal but you heard it if he didn’t like it.   I’m sure that attitude didn’t exactly make me feel like cooking either.

Marg, I can never tell the difference so I call them all Mandeville.

Tina, Donna said she takes soft cuttings & roots them in water.  I think she psted that on Steve’s thread yesterday.  I’ve never tried but thought I’d give it a shot.

Good evening everybody.  We spent most of the day at the beach.  I came home covered in wet sand & with a bot of a sunburn.

The day was hot & mostly sunny,.  82º at 9:30 this morning.  At least I didn’t have to worry about watering anything after the downpour we had yesterday.

The cat is still keeping his distance.  He’ll slink in for a while & then go back out.  But he’s been coming in at night, as usual, because the GKs are in bed behind closed door.  LOL  He did actually come in a little early last night  but wouldn’t come into the room where they were.   Maddalene doesn’t understand why Teaguer doesn’t like them.   I’ve explained that some cats hide from people but she isn’t really happy with that answer.

Leslie, we are going camping tomorrow for a couple  days . (After tomorrow morning y’all won’t see me again till sometime Friday)  But we are going in style with DB & SIL In their motor home. LOL  The GKs love it.

Hope everybody has had a great day.

Karen sounds like you enjoyed your trip.

I’ve never heard of it.  But they are in Park’s Success with Seed book.  Says they won’t come true to color but apparently it can be done.  Hmm.  Not by me though.

Just finished Gone Girl on Sunday & now reading The Melody Lingers on.  A fairly new book by  Mary Higgins Clark.  I haven’t see much from her lately.  The GKs are here for a week so not reading as often as I usually do.

Oh definitely.  Wouldn’t bother me at all.  The only drawback for me would parking or backing up the really big ones & towing a car.

I have given some serious thought to selling this house & going to live in something like  a Winnebago.    Then just pull up stakes & go where I want like Janet said, but keeping a local campground here as a home base.

Janet, do you know what class your Winnebago is?  I’ve been looking at the class C

My DB has this one but a little much for me to handle except on open road.   I’m taking the GKs to go “camping”  in this on Wed. – Thur.

Pretty Vinca, Steve.  I need to start some more of the perennial kind.

This is my Mandeville this yr.  Actually it started out belonging to my BFF.  Then the heat went out in her GH last year (winter of 13-14) & everything died.  This started sowing a little green that Spring & she gave it to me.  I managed to nurse it back to health  Now I’m going to try some cuttings from it this Fall like Donna does.

    TY,Charlene (I think).,But she’s right Charlie. I’ve actually never had a Martini.

We had a storm come through early this morning (which we really needed) ,  but it cleared up in time to go to the beach.  Then just as we came off the beach another storm rolled through & I think it followed us home or we followed it, not sure.  The skies opened up as I was coming down the back roads.  Everybody was creeping along because you couldn’t see 3 ft. in front of you & water was running across the roads like a river in spots.   And my GS tried to talk me into staying longer at the beach.  Good thing we didn’t.   We’ll  do it again tomorrow & then take a little break from the beach

Maddalene is not overly crazy about the beach because she doesn’t like all that sand in her bathing suit or in her long hair.   She was ready to come home an hr.before we actually left.

So we got the rain we needed.  Things were looking really bad & getting hard to keep healthy looking. .  In fact I put almost a gallon of water on one of the Hydrangea trees this morning right at the end of the first ,that dumped an inch of rain, because it was still drooping & wilted.

Hope y’all have had a great day & I’ll talk to you sometime tomorrow.

Mary Ann, did they not teach you how to change bed linens with Patient in the bed?  It’s not really hard to do.

Posy, I never quite trusted the hoyer lift either.  Just made me nervous but I used it from bed to chair & back again.
Mary Ann, my husband’s  power of concentration started declining as time went on also.  Not much difference in their ages.  Dave’s health started really  going downhill in his mid 50s.  He was diagnosed with Diabetes 20 yr prior to that but never took care of himself like he should,  & eventually it caught up with him.  And you can only nag so much.

Good evening .Got home with the GKs around seven.  Its been steady questions ever since but we did manage to get supper.  LOL  Maddalene is now in  bed with her kindle & Max is watching TV for a while.  S0 here I am.

They want to go to the beach tomorrow but I need to water before we leave.  Things were wilted again tonight .

We had a minor emergency because Maddie forgot her “blankie”.  I got out an afghan I bought for her GF one Christmas with the Coast Guard symbol on it & his name & dates of service embroidered on the bottom.  That is now HER Blanket so she’s happy again.

I don’t like cheese on my tomato sandwiches.  Just tomatoes & Mayo will do.  Sometimes bologna or my real favorite is Braunschweiger.

I found JFG Mayo in the store last week.  Haven’t had that since I left Tenn.   The Mayo in DG is just as good as Hellmann’s.   Surprising but true.
