Good Morning everyone, I am posting from heaven this morning.  Anyway it feels like it.  We have 57* and it is raining.  Not real rain just a constant spitting.  The water coming in the rain barrel is like a faucet open full force.  That is good because it is all soaking in the ground.  The best part is it is a warm rain.  I got up at 6 and started the coals and put the turkey in just before 7 so now I just am adding wood every half hour.  Around 1 I will bring it in and pop it in the oven for a couple hours.  Not much else planned for me today since I over did on Friday and didn’t get rested up on Sat.  I did learn Tim was correct in taking the one hose off the machine.  When I put it back on and went in the front yard I wasn’t getting enough oxygen and woke up laying in the yard. Don’t know how long I was there but I got back to the house just fine but needed to rest.

Marilyn, I hope you recover fast.  It is so hard to tell when one is over doing it until later.   You say you are done when you get the flowers in the ground, for me that is just the start because I battle weeds the rest of the year.

Carol, Nice horse but he doesn’t look too hungry.  I just love animals too much.  I am having trouble watching TV the last few days because there are so many ads with dogs in them,  Being outside I miss my dog all over again.  I am constantly looking over for him when I am in the flower beds but he isn’t there.  If he had been here when I went down he would have woke me up real quick.  Interesting story about DD boyfriend after not seeing him for years.  I ran into a neighbor the other day I haven’t seen in years and for the life of me I can’t remember why we had a falling out.

Leroy, out Governor is going to that funeral this week.  Sad story about the young lady.  enjoy your week off.

Mary, sounds like fun going to a flea market.  I used to do that years ago but had to quit when my house  had signs of a hoarder.

Sue, are you getting rain too?  I hope you are if you need it.

Snow, what are you up to this weekend?  I hope you are enjoying yourself.  Our neighbors went camping on Friday. They are so weird, They left about 2 Friday afternoon and yesterday morning she came home with 4 pillow cases of laundry and 2 totes of dishes to clean.  When she went back he came home and mowed the lawn and worked in his garage until dusk, then went back camping. I thought getting away should be getting away.

Well, I need to check the turkey.  You all have a good day.  Lair

Hey there, I’m back.  I got to the bank, cat food store, and picked up my prescription and got home just before noon. It is just such a perfect day I had to get outside.  It is 70* with a few big white clouds across the bluest sky.  A slight breeze out of the south so it is perfect for working out there.  I filled the pond and while that was filling I transplanted some hostas by the pond.  Got that done and watered everything all across the front.  Then I did some hoeing and pulled some trees that I missed last year.  this afternoon I watered everything in the back yard.  My some of the pots were really dry.  I have one passion plant that has disappeared from it’s pot.    Pot is there and dirt is wet but no plant.  Must be some kind of a bug but I’m hoping it will come back from the root.  I’ve got the smoker loaded and ready to go tomorrow morning.  I’ll be busy on that so no time to do any big projects in the yard.  Well, I should get the dinner started.  You all have a good one.  Lair

Good Morning, it is 57* and sunny so far this morning but they say rain coming in this afternoon.  I ran out of cat food this morning so I need to pick some up and also need to get some charcoal for the turkey I am smoking. I think thye are closing at noon so I need to get moving.  I’ll be back later when the rain starts.  Have a good day.  Lair

Lair checking in!  Good morning Girls.  It is 51 and sunny here this morning.  I am so looking forward to today with it feeling like spring.  I got out yesterday and cut down my pink smoke tree.  I had one branch leaf out this spring and the rest of it was dead.  Nice yesterday afternoon but too wet to weed so I took the saw out and cut down the tree,  I was surprised to find it is leafing out on the first 4″ from the ground so it is alive.  I was also pleased to see some new growth on my impatiens.  I guess the wind and the cold is the problem.  We have 70′s all next week so they should cheer up along with everything else.  Not sure how much I’ll get done today since I pulled my incision apart cutting the tree.  Don’t think it is serious just a little blood but I don’t want to make it worse.  Tim is off to work today so I can do anything I want.  I need to get out my smoker today since I got a call last night from a neighbor girl and wants me to smoke a couple turkeys for her graduation party.  They have to be done at 3:15 on Sunday.  I thought it was funny she had an exact time instead of just Sunday afternoon.  Must be a planner.  I need to get out the weed wacker today too Carol.  I am so glad I got rid of the gas one and have a battery powered one now.  The charge last just as long as I do then we both go back on the charger.  lol Marilyn, I hope you don’t have any big problem with your blood.  It sounds urgent so best it gets taken care of.  Well, I need to get moving.  I have so much going on in my mind and nothing with my hands so you all have a good day.  Lair

Sandy and Leroy, you guys came in while I was typing.  Good morning!  What kind of gloves do you need?  Is it like latex or surgical?  Maybe you won’t need them while typing.  Sandy, I hear you on the throw.  The last 3 night I have had a thin blanket plus a throw.  Layers are good when you dress up but not when you sleeping.  Besides the throw has tassels on it and they are great toys for the cats.  You both have a good day.  Lair

Oh it is a GOOD MORNING!  the sun is shining and we have 44* out there.  Inside the furnace is running and it feels real good.  Our temps are to get into the 60′s later and in the 10 day forecast it will be in the 70′s for the next 9 days, YEA  When it hits the 50′s I’ll be out there playing with my plants.  I have some left to plant and need to see what has made it and what I need to replant.  We did get a half inch of moisture yesterday so I won’t have to water except for pots.

Marilyn, sorry you are having trouble with your parts today.  I just hate being this age because it is like driving an old car, you never know what’s going to break down next.  Last week my check engine light was on but turns out it was just a loose gas cap.  easy fix this time.     Snow, glad you could stop by this morning.  I’m hoping you have a good week end and get some rest.  You have been so busy for so long it make me tired.  Did you ever get your house rented?

Carol, You sure have been busy too.  Funny Ray doesn’t want you to do things.  It is just like that here too but if I don’t do them thye don’t get done.  Instead of lecturing me just go and do it!  I see the other day 50 feet section of my hose came up missing. Now he thinks I can’t go out to the front fence but he doesn’t know I know where he hides them so I just have to go and hook it back up and away I go to the fence. Yes, I have supplemental Ins. but I still have a co-pay.  Yesterday I wrote a letter to my congressman social security and the cost of things.  Facts are SS went up 1.3%, utilities went up 8%, Insurance went up 20%, personal property taxes up 14%.    I’m already in the poor house and it feels like SS is closing the door.

Sue, it has been so long since I sat my alarm I am not sure I remember how to do it.  I don’t like them changing the daylight time back and forth but I think it just a way to keep us on out toes setting our clocks.  lol I hope you get lots of butterflies.

I could go on and on but that’s enough for me now.  I’m going to go do something.  Everyone have a good day!  Lair

Lerroy, glad you got such a good report.  Not good that you have it but good on the fact is such an easy fix to the problem.  I am constantly amazed by medicine these days.  I remember when I was a child and my Mother had her Gall bladder removed and spent 20 some days in the hospital.  Now days it is an out patient procedure.  Good luck with the things you are going through.  Lair

I’ll just say Morning,  it is 45* and there is something coming down I can only describe as wet snowballs.  Looks like hail but when they hit the deck they splat.  We are expecting a high today of 47, yes I said 47 and rain.  Last night the furnace ran twice and this morning it is constant.  Not going into the yard today, I’ll just wait until we get some spring to check things out.  They say this weekend will be better.  I got my teeth filled yesterday and all went well.  Only bad thing will be the bill when it comes.  He didn’t know how much it will be because the computers were down.  I think the computers were fine but he just didn’t want to tell my to my face how much it was.  Speaking of costs I just got a bill for my biopsy I had last month and couldn’t believe it.  For the procedure, 2 stitches, and lab tests it came to a total of 1875.00.  I can’t imagine how they can charge that much for such a simple thing.  Should have been a doctor.

Marilyn, sounds like you are getting along a lot better with your wrist.  glad the new brace is working better.  Don’t go expanding your flower beds, I did that years ago and it is hard to undo and go back to grass.  As I get older I wish I hadn’t put rock boarders around the beds. Without the rock I could slowly let the lawn take over as I slowly slow down.

Sandy, I’m not much for cereal except I like corn flakes and granola.  I need a banana to really get me excited about it.  I have to hand it to you, I am not so sure if I could handle having little kids around all the time.  I like them but only in small dosses.

Mary, I have a metal roof on the top of my house and shingle on the lower part.  The metal is slippery and the snow slides off all the time making lots of noise when it hits the first floor roof.   Sounds like you can get your plants out by the weekend.  It would be a shame if you would have to water them in your new car. lol

Carol, I feel for you cleaning the booth.  I had a booth years ago and it was a mess to clean.  No place to move anything out of the way while cleaning.  I spent most of my time stacking than I did cleaning not to mention breaking things in the process.  Good luck getting ahead of the weeds.  I wonder why the bad weather never effects the weeds.  they do well no matter what comes.  I have a lot in full bloom right now so at least I have blooms in my yard.

Sue, good luck with the hair cut.  I cut mine  and it took me a while but it looks the best it has in years.  Way too short but maybe it is time for a change for me.  Turn on your furnace?  lucky you, I haven’t turned mine off yet.

Well, that’s long enough for me, my fingers are getting cold.  Snow,  Leroy, Jan,  Alma and all, have a great day no matter what the day brings.  Lair

Good Morning Marilyn and all to follow.  It is overcast and 37* this morning.  It isn’t as windy as yesterday so only around 20 mph.  Marilyn , your temp is already higher than we will get today at 51.  Looking over my plants yesterday I see I have lost a third of my impatiens because of the cold weather.  I may need to go to the nursery if it ever warms up to get more.  I’m not even going out to the yard today.  I got so chilled yesterday I never did get warmed up.  Then about 5 this morning I realized it was a 2 blanket night and me with only one on.  I got up and turned up the thermostat and the sound of the clinking of the radiators sounded good but I was too wide awake to get back to sleep.  I guess I’ll do some cleaning today.  I do have a dentist appointment at 2 this afternoon and before that I need to try to fix my haircut.  Yesterday I got the flow-be out and cut my hair.  It is way too short now but still needs some fixing to be even.  I’ll do just about anything to keep my mind off the weather frustrations.

Marilyn, nice of you to fix a meal for the neighbors.  Hope you get the appreciation for that.  I asked Tim what he wanted for diner last night.  He said Goulash so I made a big pot of it.  When I told him it was done he said it didn’t sound good and went and made a micro pot pie.  I wanted to throw it in his face but didn’t do anything I wanted to do with it.

Mary, your little GD is sure growing up fast.  I can’t believe how fast they grow.

Carol, did you get your booth all cleaned up?  i hope you had a good day and didn’t work too hard.

Sandy, glad you are feeling better and had a good day.  May today be better.  Making anymore raised beds?

Snow, I hope things are finally easing up for you.  But I am guessing with work getting less you will be doing more at home, right?

Leroy, saw your pictures.  Things look really good.  Are you only working part time?  Seems like you are going to work a lot for just part time.

Jan, any news on the job front.  Sounds like good hours for you if you get it.  good luck!

I should get moving, everyone have a good day.  Lair

Good Evening,  I’m with you Mary.  I went out today and only lasted 20 minutes before I was too cold to work.  I came in and warmed up for a while.  Got a coat on and some gloves and went back out to weed with gloves on.  I work a while before I had to come in and warm up again.  When I got to the door I caught a look at myself in the glass.  It was so sad, I looked like some old Russian lady I’ve seen in pictures from WW1.  I thought the neighbors must think I’m nuts going out looking like that in this cold weather.  I stayed in the rest of the day. I just checked the temp and we have 38* and it is still going down.  I’m hoping if it freezes it will freeze the weeds too.  Have a good evening.  Lair

Good Morning everyone,  It is 47* and the sun is trying to shine with a strong wind.  This has been a very good spring if you own a wind farm.  I’m just hoping that with all this wind our light bills go down, like that ever would happen.  Guess I need to get real!  Yesterday was not a real productive day.  I did as little as possible.  With our high only going up to 55 today I should put on a coat and go out and pull weeds.  If I had more discipline I would do that but being lazy I don’t think it will happen. As the song says “Tomorrow” will be better when we have sunshine all day long.  I need to go back and read yesterday.  My memory is in pause right now.  I’ll be back later, You all have a good day!  Lair

GOOD MORNING everyone,  It is 67* and the sun is trying to come out but we have had 2 sprinkles a while ago.  I’m in a good mood today.  I feel good, my wrist is all but cured, My oxygen is working at full force, and I can hear.  I have not said anything but for the last few months I have had trouble hearing things on TV.  I have gotten better at reading lips.  Yesterday I hit a wrong button on the remote and “sound” came up on the screen.  I clicked on the effects and the settings were on “tubing surround”  I changed it to normal and all of sudden I could hear everything.  I have had the volume set on 80 and now I have it on 25 and can hear everything just fine.  What a relief!

Yesterday I got out in the yard for a while and got all the weeds out and the flowers planted around the pond.  I also planted the Castor seedlings along the fence.  Can’t really call them seedling when they are 18 inches tall.  I’m now down to just a few impatiens left to plant.  I have been holding off on those in case I need to replace some already in the ground.  I got some weeding done but got wet both fro sweat and showers.  Would like to do some planting today but will have to se how wet it is.  I need to move some hostas so I can do that even if it is sorta wet.  Wow, just saw my first Hummer, he flew up and looked in the window, must be looking for the plant I had hanging out there last year.  Yesterday I had a Cardinal convention at my pond.  There were 9 or 10 males on the birdbath drinking and bathing.  Got the camera but they were gone.  Well I should get moving.

Carol & Marilyn, hope you both get to feeling better.  The days are way too nice to be hurting and not be enjoying them.  You both enjoy the birds.  Mine are sure active too.

Mary, you sure to be keeping busy with all your new free time.  Good for you!

Sandy, Sorry to hear about your daughter.  I don’t know much about that stuff but it sound serious.  I am confused about what your work schedule is now days.  Are you still on weekends only?

Everyone else have a good day.  Lair

Good Morning, good to see Snow joining us this morning.  I have fog and drizzle this morning with 57*.  They say it will clear up but at this point I have my lights on because it is still so dark.  I did the edging on the yard yesterday and mowed the front before Andy came over and finished the back and all I didn’t get done.  I want to go out and plant but it is just too wet for now.  It is warm now but thye say a cool week ahead.  Need to run now, will be back later, Have a good day.  Lair
