Good Morning ladies,  It is 68* and sunny going for a high of 80 this afternoon.  Yesterday was perfect because I could go out for an hour at a time and pull weeds.  I got almost all of the 60 foot bed done except for the back 4 feet but I will try getting that done this morning.  After that I will start on my ladder bed.  That bed is about 40X40 so will take most of the day too.  That is if my knees don’t give out first.  Andy came over yesterday to see if he could come this afternoon and mow.  He stayed about a half hour so I think he just wanted to talk a little.  Anyway I’ll pull weeds this morning and then pull my hoses out of the grass and take a break while he mows.

Marilyn, yes I read your post in the evening.  It is a ritual with me now.  I watch the news while make coffee for the morning, then I watch the weather.  While the sports is on I come in and read your post and see what my sister posted for her day.  By that time Jimmy Kimmel is on and I don’t post.  I have a lot to say but I type so slow I don’t have time.  As far as Caytlan, or whatever Jenner is calling himself, I’m thinking a lot of these reality people { they say stars which they are not}  are just addicted to being in front of a camera.  I don’t or won’t watch any except survivor.

I should get my day under way,  You all have a great day!  Lair

Good Morning, this will be short because I have had to try twice to just get to post.  Something always wrong when I get on here.  It is 65* and the sun is coming out.  We were lucky yesterday because the weather guessers were wrong.  Instead of upper 90′s and humid it only got up to 80 and was overcast the whole day.  Today is much cooler with a north breeze.  I guess I will get out and do some weeding.  My goodness the weeds have just tripled in size since we got that inch of rain last week.  I went out to the garden yesterday and in 24 hours my zucchini went from 3″ up to 18″ in length.   I picked 4 of them so I will have to call the neighbor and see if she wants some.  Well, weeding for me today and I’ll check back later.  You all have a good dya.  Lair

Carol, I can hardly wait to hear what happened with the bathroom.

Marilyn, I missed what you found out from the doctor.

Mary, I got some sweet corn and every ear is a different size.  They all looked the same but just different thickness of husks.

Leroy, stay cool and I hope you got some rain.

Caden, did you get that storm last night?  I missed me and went south of us.

Good Morning, It is 74* and very humid this morning.  There is a lot of thunder and it has just started to get a few drops.  I am hoping it would continue all day but they forecast only for a short while the turn real hot and humid for the rest of the day.  Like you all said, in the 90′s.  I did go out and try some weeding yesterday.  They pulled so easy I could have done it all day but I started to hear some sloshing in my chest and I had not drank any water so I decided to call it quits for the day.  Just too hot and humid to chance it.  There will be better days.  No plans for today until I see what the weather does.  I better close up the doors and come back, Later,  Lair

Good Morning, Just a short one for me.  I didn’t do anything yesterday so I am a day behind already.  Bad way to start out the week.  It is 68 *, humid but the sun is shining and they say 90* later with humidity.  I am so happy to report that I got over an inch of rain yesterday morning.  Everything looks so green again.  My weeds sure needed the rain although they would have made it without any rain.  My major battle now is the clump grass coming up in all the beds.  I also have just been invaded with the Japanese beetles.  Lots of them and they are very hungry this year.  My cat is getting around pretty good this morning.  Still has his back leg held high but he is moving on the other three.  He wanted out this morning so I let him out and watched.  He headed right down to the old garden to do his duty.  I’ll go out soon and bring him in when he is done.  I don’t want him to be tempted to go towards the road.   Well, I best get moving.  I’ll be back later so you all have a good dya.  Lair

GOOD morning!  you see I put  a special good today.  It started out around 7 with close to fog being so humid and then an hour later a few drops.  Since then we have had a down pour where the gutters ran over but now it has let up and is just a nice drizzle.  I hope this continues all day but they say it will clear off and get really hot, into the 90′s again.  It is 74* right now. Well, my cat is laying low.  He seems to like out of the way places.  He moves around every few hours and I have to look for him.  The fact he is moving around and eats when I put food in front of him is a good sign.   After I fed him this morning I checked back and his food was gone and so was he.  I looked all over the place but didn’t see him until I checked the rain and here he was down in the green house.  That’s good considering it is 6 steps down from the main house.  If he is doing stairs it must mean he is on the mend.  He has always been so active and acts like a 2 year old jumping from the porch railing to the roof daily.  When I leave he waits on the corner of the house for me to return.  By the time I am parked he is by the car door.  I’ll go down and have a petting session after I finish this.   Not much planned for today.

Mary, I am sort of hungry for lefse after reading your adventures but not much chance of that unless I go online.  I did do that once when I lived in Colo. I don’t know what the kringla are. Andy’s display will be in the 4-H section of the state fair.  He said he was the only one going there.

Marilyn, I hope you get some relief when you talk to the Dr.

Carol, how much longer before your bath is done?  It will be worth it when it is done.   Well, I will get moving, you all have a good day.  Lair

Update from Lairland!  Andy just called to tell me he took a PURPLE RIBBON at the fair.  Now he is going to state the first week in Sept.  He was so happy and thanked me over and over.  The he had to go and call his parents to tell them.  Made me so happy for him.  I am thinking we hit 92 this afternoon but I am not out in it.  Kitty is resting but has moved a few times.  Right now I am not surre where he is sleeping.  Later,  Lair

Good afternoon, I’m back because I just gave up on today.  It is 80* and very humid.  Like a wet wash cloth in your face and full sun.  I tried to go out and water but just too hard to get my breath.  It’l be easier this evening.  Our storms came in yesterday but no ran.  Tim said it rained for an hour where he works but that’s 5 miles from here.  I did water most of the afternoon but still a lot more to get watered.  I called the vet and there isn’t much they can do for broken bones on cats 14 years old.  I decided to just keep him at home and keep him comfortable. Crating him up and taking him to the vet, then the x-rays and the trip home just seemed like a lot of pain for him if they can’t do anything for.   I got him food, water, and his own litter box.  I combed and brushed him gently, he purred during that.  then I put him on the floor and let him find an area where he feels best then I took his things to him.  He has been sleeping ever since.

Andy came over because he broke a electrical meter on his house. (his model house)  I made a new one quickly and he is off to the fairgrounds.    He agreed about me going down there.  Since I am not family there is no way I could get closer than 3 blocks with my car.  The fair starts on Monday so I guess they judge today and he will find out on Monday what he scored.  I hope he does well.

Well, that’s long enough here so I’ll go back to the kitchen and get in the AC.  It isn’t too bad here at my desk with the fan going.  Be back later if I get bored.  I’m making some cold zucchini soup.  that should hit the spot later.  Lair

Good Morning,  It is hot and humid!  The sun is trying to come out and I guess it isn’t that hot, only 78*.  I have a bunch of things going on today.  My cat must have been hit by a car because he was laying out in the yard sleeping.  I didn’t think much of it until I fed him last night before I went to bed and he didn’t come.  Got out a flash light and went to find him.  Poor decision for me because by the time I found him I was so out of breath I could hardly make it back to the house.  thsi morning he isn’t walking ion his back leg but is finding himself a comfy place.  Got to get to the vet.  Today is Andy’s big day to set up at the fair and they do the judging.  He wants me there but I’m not so sure if I should go.  I can’t park within 3 blocks of the hall and not sure I could make it without a tree for any shade.  I’ll have to come back later.  Have a good one.  Lair

Good Morning, it is 67* and overcast wiht rain coming in from the north so thanks MaryB.  They say right now is the coolest temp we will see for the next week with heat and humidity coming in and staying.  I dread that but at least I have the AC in the window in case I need it.  I haven’t been on as much the last few days.  I have been so busy in the yard and making picture frames.  I have 4 frames done and that is all thye want right now.  Andy wanted to take all his framed puzzles to the fair but due to lack of space they can only take a few.  I think he has 20 but has only helped on the last 4 frames and the rules are he has to make the ones he enters.  Andy just called and he is having a crisis,  the board  for his farm is now in the uncooled garage and the road material is buckling. I will go over in a few minutes and see if we can glue it down.  Should be an easy fix.  Anyway I have been so busy weeding for the past few days.  Tim says I should be running out of weeds but he is very wrong.  I love my new  little tiller.  I just go through an area and it breaks up all the hard soil then I can get down  and more or less pick up the weeds and the ones that are no completely out pull so easy.  The ones close to plants that is.  I am so looking forward to rain because we need the moisture but also my knees are sore.  A day off from that is good.

Marilyn, I’n getting concerned about your health.  I used to have the swelling in my legs, that is so painful.; Mine did it to the point they would split open and took so long to heal.

Carol, I feel for you with the mess in the house.  I remember the year I did my house.  Every month I did another room but the whole house was a mess the whole time.  That’s another reason I holding off on the bath.  The upstairs will be a mess because the bath is up there but alos we will need to tear out the ceiling downstairs to get to the plumbing so the first floor will be a mess.   Not to mention all the plaster dust from 150 year old plaster that gets everywhere.  I hope he is done soon.

Mary, I can’t believe you keep track of the people you went to school with. I would guess with me living 1000 miles away it is different for me.

Sandy, I feel for you.  Hang in there, things will get better and you will get your house back.

Leroy, good news on your eyes!  Now lets hope the other arm will go as well as the first.

Grace, I’m thinking you will get some rain out of this storm we have coming this morning.  I’m not sure if you need it or not.  I sure do since we have only had two tenths this month.

Well, I need to jump in the shower and get over to Andy’s.  You alll have a good day.  Lair

Good Morning Marilyn and all to come in later, I have 71* and full sun but no breeze in the slightest.  Going up to 80* today but it will feel real hot in the sun.  I did a bunch of weeding but my half hour sessions were cut to 20 minutes because of the sweat in my eyes.  I got the lawn mowed on Tuesday so I hope that is done for the week.  It just remended me I need to clean the gutters too.  I’ve been seeing maple trees all over the place.  Might be a job for the boys next time they come over.  Andy came over on Tuesday evening and came back yesterday morning for a few hours and we got 4 picture frames made for him.  He couldn’t believe how much work there was making one.  He has a lot of trouble with measurements.  To him fractions don’t mean much as long as you get the inches right.  lol Would make some interesting frames thinking like that.  Oh, got company.  Back later,  Lair

Good Morning, it is 61 and the sun is trying to come out.  Looks like another perfect day.  Yesterday was great but I overdid a little and fell asleep early so I was surprised when I over slept almost 2 hours.  I’m already way behind on my morning chores and it is only 9am.  Today is going to be a busy day so I should get moving.  I’ll be back when I take a break and do some reading.  Computer is working just fine so I don’t have to worry about that.  I guess that had me so worried because a lot of people I know have just had to get new computers to replace ones not as old as mine.  Just can’t afford any new bills right now.  That’s my problem not your so I’ll just say have a great day.  Later,   Lair

Good Morning, it is sunny and 62* with a nice breeze out of the west.  The weatherman says this will be the “nicest day of the year” with no humidity and a high of 80*.  I’m sure you are all sick of hearing about my computer problems but I am encouraged today.  I clicked on internet and it came up in less than 2 seconds compared to minutes before.  Now when I hit a letter it comes right up on the screen, no waiting for the whole word to come up to see if I spelled it right.  Everything is working great so I will just say this episode has a happy ending.

Late yesterday I went out and started some mowing but with the humidity I got out of breath real quick.  Decided to wait until this morning to finish.  I know there is a lot of weeding I can work on if I get bored.  Tim is up rushing around so I am guessing he is working as a carpenter today.  Not much else going on right now so I’ll be back later when I take a break.  Have a good day.  Lair

Good Afternoon everyone.  I am happier than Snowwolf on the lake.  It has clouded over and we have a light mist out there.  No real rain but I will take what I can get. With it being cloudy it isn’t getting much warmer than it was this morning.  I couldn’t mow but I got on the computer with Norton and with IM told them what my problem was.  It took the guy over 2 hours to run all the tests and do the repairs.  There was something wrong with one file that turns on all the other files as the computer is on.  The longer it is on the slower it gets.  No virus just a corrupted file.  He went through the whole system while I watched on my end.  I could see all he was doing but he had control of the mouse.  for some reason I had 3 dictionaries in 6 different languages, all of them running. All of his labor was free and I didn’t have to do a thing except say yes or no the whole time.  Now it is done I am thinking the computer is faster than it was when new.  I’m still crossing my fingers and knocking on wood but I think the problem is fixed.  Well, I’m off to do recycling and getting the trash to the curb.  Have a good afternoon.  Lair
