You are not alone there!  I can’t tell you how many times things have come up I planted in different places a year before. When something doesn’t germinate the dirt goes right back in the soil bucket and so does any seed along with it.  Then who knows when or where I will see it again.  Just look at this as a pleasant surprise.  Lair

Good Morning Carol, and all to follow,  It is a sunny 45* here this morning going to a high of 60 this afternoon.  Great day yesterday.  I went out and cleaned one bed and really wanted to do another but decided not to over due.  That was the smartest thing I did all day because today I am just sore and not hurting.  Today I will do another bed.  I’m just cleaning off the beds but not hauling the weeds and leaves off.  I think that is what takes the most out of me is the long trips to the compost pile and back.  With any luck the neighbor boys will come over and I’ll get them to do the hauling.  After I clean off the bed I may just start taking more plants out of the GH.  Slow but sure will get it done.  Well, that’s my plan until it changes.

Carol, you take it easy with all the wood you have been bucking.  A little of that goes a long way.

Marilyn, you have a great birthday.  Do something really fun!

Sandy, where have you been?  I see you have posted here and there but not on Mid=west.  We miss you.  Hope all is well.

From memory I think everyone else is really busy except Mary, she is retired!  Good for you girl. After a few days you will be so busy yu will wonder how you ever found time to work.  Just enjoy!  I need to get moving so everyone have a great day.  Lair

Good Morning, I have 37* and lots of sun today.  They say we may hit 50′s later.  I’m looking forward to next weekend when we will see 70* close up.  Yesterday was productive, I got all the recycling done, the well primed and the runs to the back and the front full of running water.  It took me over 2 hours to fill the pond and man were the frogs happy when I got the water high enough so they could jump out.  I watered around the foundation and the flowers looked a lot better in the evening.  Today my thighs are sore from so much walking from the front to the back.  While the pond was filling I got out the Round-up and did a lot of spraying.  My neighbor has a hedge of dandelions and they are creeping my way.  Well, not creeping but a full on charge.  The smart thing to do would be spray his first but he is never around to ask him.  He works from 6am until 4pm and he is riding motorcycle or in the bar from then on. Today I am going to rake out and clean a couple beds before the plants get too big.  Andy called yesterday and left a message about mowing the lawn this week.  I didn’t get back to him so not sure when he will do that.  I should get moving but will check back later and see what you all are doing.  Have a great day.  Lair

Charlene, I have that purple waffle plant too.  Just want to warn you that when you look near the dirt you will see white roots reaching out.  I thought it wanted to be a new plant so I cut one stem off and put it in water to finish rooting.  It was dead in an hour so it must not want to be rooted.  At least for me.  Lair

Good Morning all, it is 36* this morning but the sun is shining so it looks better out there.  I have to chuckle at you ladies about my arm.  You are all married and you still think a man would call a doctor about a sore arm.  They told me it would be sore and I knew it when the numbed the site before the shot.  lol  It is better today but still is letting me know it is there. On the other hand it sure has loosened up my cough already.

Don’t know when I’ll get outside today, I’m waiting until it is 50* so maybe after noon.   I’ll check my seedlings and do the recycling first.  One thing I have to do today is get the well primed and start watering.  A lot of the tulips are wilting close to the house when the sprinkles didn’t hit them.  I’m hoping for May flowers despite the lack of any April showers .  After than I guess I will fill the pond.  That should about do me in for the day.  The rest of the week is promised to be warmer and 60 by next weekend.  No chance of rain until Sat and that is only 20%.  I would like to rake off some beds but I am afraid to do that when I’m alone.  The Doctor told me she would see me soon when she looked at my stomach hernia.  Raking really raises he!! with it so I have to be careful or I’ll end up in the ER.  It sounds like you are all very busy so I should get busy too.  Have a great day.  Lair

Good Morning, I do have a question about the good part.  It is 37* and looks like rain but the weather guesser says it is moving out of the area.  Everyone on the news is so glad it isn’t raining but I am not.  They all got over 2″ yesterday but I have nothing in the rain gauge.  We are so dry again and no chance of rain until next Friday.  I had to shut off the pump in my pond yesterday because the water is down almost 2 feet from the top.  Until I get the well running to fill it the birds will just have to do without.  My city water isn’t that expensive but for every gallon they double the amount for sewer and that is where it cost the money.  I’m not doing anything today.  My arm is so swollen from the pneumonia shot I had Thursday.  I bumped it yesterday and it hurt so bad I ended up throwing up.  I’m having trouble typing today with it so I am one handed.  I don’t feel so bad about my tomatoes because I have been so lucky the last 10 years putting them out a month ahead of time. I can replace what I lost at any nersury I stop at so no big deal.  Out last frost date  is May 10 os I was pushing it.  Next year I’ll have a green house cover for my raised beds like I used to have.  That one worked but I used the glass doors fro my GH when I built it.  I’ll make a wood frame and cover it with polycarbonate.  that should work and be light weight.  Well, I have to go and rest my arm, Will be back later.  Lair  OH, have a good day everyone.

Well, it is later and I am back.  I went out and uncovered things but I got a real chill.  I’m warmer now and am doing a few things around the house.  Well I found out that April 20 was too early to plant tomatoes outside.  I still have plants but the leaves are black.  Don’t know but they may leaf out again.  I lost the tomatoes and my white eggplant. good thing it is early and I can replace them at the nursery.  The rest of the day I am just staying in the house until we have a warmer day.  Everyone have a great day.  Lair

Good Morning everyone,  It is 39 and looks like it will rain any minute.  They say rain today and tomorrow with a high of 50*.  I hate to uncover the garden but I will so the rain can do it’s thing.  I think I’ll do that before I get wet out there and come back here later.  You all have a good day.  Later, Lair

Good afternoon, it has warmed up to 56 and the sun feels good.  I just got home from the Doctor.  Turns out I didn’t need to study just remember.  I did OK and they didn’t have to put me down.  My pressure is under 120/60, Cholesterol is 110 but my CO2 is very low.  On the other hand in s glucose is way up.  I got some new meds and have to go back in Aug.  Don’t know why my sugar is up since I don’t eat much of it.  Maybe pasta but I will have to add more veggies.  When I get out and work in the yard it always goes down.   I need to go down to the GH and check seedlings, I’m sure a few will be dry and I hope my  Hyacinth beans are up finally.

Marilyn, I hope you can enjoy the meet without freezing.

Carol, today is much nicer than yesterday with out wind so I will send it to you and Marilyn, Sandy too. Just stay inside, better days are coming.

Mary, you have to get in a better mood or we might have to have the witch from work visit you at home.  Every time you get down just think how much better things are without her around.  Be Happy!

Leroy, glad your plants made it overnight.  I think mine did too but haven’t checked yet.  I hope your eye is OK and no more shots.

Alma, glad you made it home and you had a good time.

Caden, I would have had ice too but I have running water going in mine so it is always moving .

Jan, just take it easy, you don’t want to get all the work done too early.  that time off with pay sounds good in the summer.

Well, I need to get on with my morning chores before the day is over.  Have a great day, whatever is left of it,  Lair

I always take them out and plant them in the beds.  I leave the green on them and plant them just like a seedling.  In a few weeks they will die back and come next spring they will come up and bloom.  Lair

And a sunny good Morning, I have 34* and sunny this morning.  We have winds moving around 30 mph from the NW.  They say our wind chill is 22 this morning.  Not going to be as windy as yesterday but still not pleasant out there.  I stopped and got gas yesterday and thought I would freeze before I got it filled, no wind protection at all.  I find it funny every time I fill this tank because it is only 20.00 instead of being 100 with my Expedition.Nice change and the gas was only 2.39 per gallon.  I did also manage to pick up the pet license so that’s out of the way for another year.  Not sure what today will bring after I check the plants for water.  I can’t use any tube system because all the seedlings seem to be in different size pots and the in a month I will only have a half dozen plants in the GH.  Hand watering is good because I can check every plant for bugs and what ever might be going wrong.  Well, I think I’ll go back and do some reading.  Will be back later, Have a great day.  Lair
