Last year it was almost Fall before I got any blossoms and then of course it was to late to enjoy them much, anyway to make the flower quicker? Have a hanging basket full of orange ones and am dying to see what they look like.

Sue…do you have them in full sun?  Have you given them any fertilizer?  Those are 2 things I can think of.  Charlene

That’s all I can think of too.  Sun & fertilizer.  I don’t fertilize mine much but they are in the sun & bloom all summer into late Fall & even bloom during the winter in the garage.  Unless they freeze like they did this year.  :(

Just remembered another idea. One specialists said they bloom better when root bound. So when I start ming I put 3-4 in a pot.

Then when I shorten the tall stalks I let them heal for an hour or more and then poke into the spaces between the original plants.

Later they are in full bloom. Hope some of this helps. Alma

Geraniums like to dry out a bit between watering.  They also like sun.  Are you perhaps starving them?  I use a fert. with 30 or more as the middle number.  The high middle number is a bloom booster. I also add a pinch of fert to the water every time I water. One watering a week, I flush any salt build-up with plain water.

Thanks, Mari! I looked at some bloom booster at our farm store but wasn’t sure about it. My “Maverick” geraniums are huge, looks like they may have blooms sooner then the rest. One basket of my orange ones is looking pretty good but one looks sad and I’ve done the same for both! I ended up buying an orange one and putting purple salvia around them.
