The minute I began to walk in the woods I spotted this insect.  Why does it have

two sets of wings.  What is this.  I’ve never seen anything like that before.  It was flying and

    resting.

That should be a dragonfly, rather than a damselfly.  I can’t say which kind of dragonfly as I’m having Internet/WiFi woes at the moment.

Great picture of it!  Thanks for sharing.

    LOL at Gayle!

CatsBirds – that would be in American English, right?  Do you get many of those around your place, because of the lake?

Hi Margba!  Fun to look at strange insects & their names, right?

Thanks for the pic, Stella, now we’re all bilingual,  LOL!

I see lots of that type of Dragonfly in my part of NC. I have lots of dragonflies in my yard this spring.

Here is a new one (to me) that I took yesterday while at a plant nursery/store. I love the fancy patterns on his wings. Anyone seen this one before? He was lots smaller than my yard dragons.

Thanks Sharon for the solved mystery.  I have to say that it’s the first time in my entire life that I have seen this species of insect.
