Enjoyed the pictures posted.  Thanks for sharing all the colorful fireworks, flags and scenes from the lake on the 4th.  Also, Nickel nice colorful pots of flowers and and healthy looking.  The cactus is neat, too.

Also, the cactus and the growth that Gkids posted.  Sure is growing good and a nice gift from Meme to you, too.

Hope all enjoyed the 4th and your food was good, too, no matter what you had at your cookout or whatever.

Good morning, a few more pix from the boardwalk, they extended it another mile since last year, now it’s about 3 miles long, so the other day we walked around 5 miles:) with lots of stops when we met friends out for a stroll,

The cruise pavilion where the cruise ships dock,

Decked out in red for Canada Day,

Gkids3, I’ve thought of repotting the cacti but will have to hunt up a thick pair of gloves as I can’t grab the plant and it’s big enough now, that it really is due to be repotted.  I take all the ceramic pots into the house in the winter, and store them in my basement as I don’t care about the plants that are just annuals and mostly dead when I store them.  I buy new each year anyway.  Thanks for the ‘nudge’ and I’ll be doing the repotting this a.m.

Cliff if you stop back and haven’t repotted the cactus yet, get a pair of tongs to use.  That’s how I potted my cactus, gently lifted it out of the coffee can Meme sent it to me in and put it, basically on top of the soil, in the planter it’s in now. They don’t have to be put very far into the soil.  And yes you will also need a pair of thick gloves. :)

Just got back in from outside.  I had bought a couple plants Thursday and since it’s cool, breezy and cloudy at the moment decided it was a good time to plant them.

Going to get cleaned up and hubby is taking me out for lunch today for my birthday, celebration at son’s tomorrow.

Resa nice boardwalk and interesting pavillion.

    Morning Marge.

Wow Sharon those geese can sure become a nuisance fast.  They try using dogs along the river to chase them off, they’ve overtaken part of the river walk and it’s “messy” to say the least along there.

I had a pair of rubber-lined garden gloves and gently used them.  I dug out a hole big enough to hold the root system in one of my empty red ceramic pots and then gently disengaged the cactus from it’s little plastic insert and put it into the hole I’d dug.  It’s now in its new home and is in the full sun on my back deck.  Looks like it has always been there, already.  It’s got lots of room to grow and if it gets even too big, I’ll get it a bigger pot!  I tucked in a bit more soil from the new hole I dug for it, and now it’s firmly ensconched and happy in its new home!  Thanks for all the suggestion’s!

Sharon, wow your fireworks were beautiful and you were able to capture them nicely. Great shots of the Canada geese

Cliff, your flowers are all so beautiful; I especially like the snapdragons and my hummingbirds would live that purple salvia.

Gkids, your cactus is really doing great.

Rese, those are some great pictures from the boardwalk, I especially like the last photo of the pretty little boat.

Puff, wow that cactus is really big.

    Hi Joan, Marg and Posy!

I took this picture from the top deck of the Fremont Bridge yesterday. The Fremont is a steel tied-arch bridge with two decks carrying vehicular traffic, each with four lanes over the Willamette River in Portland.
