    I live in Bristol, Virginia and saw a small off white bird feeding on the ground under one of my feeders that was filled with safflower seeds. I have fed birds most of my life and had never seen one before like this. Anyone have any idea what it might be ?

    I went to the guide that you posted and that was not the one I saw. It was all white, almost the color of evaporated milk for want of a better description. No other colors. It was not there today but if I see it again I’ll try to get a picture. I wonder if it could have been an immature bird that has not developed its color yet ?? I love this site. So much to learn from everyone that shares here.

    Carol… if it was all white it was either an albino (pink eyes) or leucistic (partial albino, with dark eyes or partial white) Here is a link that gives more info…
