    I photographed this duck last weekend in southern Ohio. Anybody got any guesses? I ruled out the greater and lesser scaup because this bird doesn’t have a gray back:

    Yes, Sharon is right on. They just left my lake in Florida a few weeks ago… must have been headed your way!

    Yep, my guess would be the Male Scaup too!  They have been here in MI for about a week or two.  Just seen a male with 2 females today.  Didn’t have my camera with me.
