    Not the best, but yesterday morning it was very cold, and I think it was moving so fast to keep warm.  I thought it would be bigger.

    Yes, it looks like a minarch!  Very pretty!  I see a monarch out front here about every day at about the same time, them it flies up to the center of the top of my front porch.  I guess they are creatures of habit of sorts!

    Great pic, but actually you have a Viceroy..they mimic the Monarch…The viceroy has the thin black stripe across each wing and the single row of small white dashes in the black wing borders..

    Viceroy indeed. That would also explain the smaller size.
