I enjoy watching the birds from my kitchen window. I decided to make a couple of bird feeders. I thought some homemade feeders would be a great addition to the yard. The first feeder is made from a embroidery hoop.

I used mainly the materials in the above link.

Here is what the feeder I made included:

    12 inch wooden embroidery hoop

    Window screen

    3 eye screws

    1 hook

    Beads

    Nylon twisted mason line

Filled the embroidery hoop with safflower and black oil sunflower seeds.

That is a very nice idea.  I might try to make a few with my granddaughters.  They love creative activities.  With my help, I am sure it would be fun.

This is great! This is one of my favorite projects from this site, because it’s so easy and yet so very practical. This would be such a great one to do with grandkids, I always think.

Very pretty and certainly appears to be doing its job with the pictures of the birds.

I love it!  Would a metal or plastic hoop stand up better, though?  Wood or metal or plastic, great idea!

both great ideas…the best part is that they work…..I have put peanut butter with oats, half oranges, etc in old tea cups or plastic lids …but nobody comes to eat them!!

Looks good.  Ili, metal would probably rust too quick, IMO

I’d give it a try if I could keep the squirrels out of it.  LOL
