I bet my husband that I could get a hummingbird to eat out of my hand.  My reward, if I did, is a trip to Red Lobster for coconut shrimp.   Success!

You must have friendly birds! LOL Mine are so antsy, wonder if that would work if I held something like that while sitting in my rocker on the front porch?

Thx, everyone.   It is soooooooo fun to feel the whir of the wings around my head and the tiny feet latching onto my finger.   (Hiker….give it a try)   : )

So sweet Idella, is that a young male? How long did it take before he came to you? I was excited to have a juvenile come to feed at the feeder while my hand was still on it. I had just hung it back up after cleaning & refilling & was holding it steady so it would stop swinging.

Witnessing such a beautiful moment may have been as big of a treat for your husband as it was for you? Oh, and maybe going to Red Lobster too:-) Great teamwork!

    Thanks, MDgreenery,

Yes, that’s a young male.   The females do not have the streaking on the throat.   I was only out there about 10 minutes.  (I DID take down the feeders first)   We have had more hummingbirds this year than usual.  The container I used is the top off a redi-whip can.

Actually, the truth be told, my hubby is not as much into birds.  But….he loves going out to eat.  lol
