I had three  plants come up in with other seedlings this year . I planted them but they are getting so big and now I am curious as to what they are  . Please don’t tell me I am growing weeds lol.

    Thank you in advance

    Hi Sandy,

When I looked at your first picture I thought you were growing a fig tree? The last picture?…the leaves remind me of a Monarda~Beebalm but the stem looks like Bamboo:-0

Could the second & third be a vegetable of some sort?

I was thinking #1 could be a veggie but as I said I am dumb founded as to what they are . I don’t want to pull them unless I know they are weeds lol. Heck Marlene it could be a fig tree for all I know lol but if that’s  the case I think its going to need a bigger pot hahaha .

The first plant looks like what we call a cow parsnip around here.  Weed.  Big trouble. I let this thug started in my yard & then spent years trying to get rid of it. Now, I’m guessing, so don’t go trashing it till you get a positive ID.

    Another guess at pics 3 & 4.  Angel’s trumpet?

The 1st pic does look like cow parsnip.  Hope that’s what it is and not hogweed.  While cow parsnip can be a nuisance, hogweed is dangerous and should be carefully destroyed.

The 3rd pic is a weed, although I can’t id it by name.

    Sorry  :{

Sandy. Hate to be the one to break your bubble but  1 and 3 are weeds  number 2 I am not sure of

1 cow parsnip I think it is too can be used as a herb but don’t let it seed

    3smartweed can be very invasive

Thank you all and no bubbles being burst here lol.

I knew #1 was not spearmint as thats what was planted in that pot lol.

#2 could be plant as I & GD planted a mixture of seed in the flower box , don’t know what all got seeded thou lol.

#3 looked very familiar to me but couldn’t place it but also knew it wasn’t a marigold !

So with gloves on I will be removing # 1 & 3 tomorrow morning . At least you have to admit that I grow some great looking weeds hahaha . Thanks again everyone for your help .

Sandy the 3rd one might be Lobelia (Cardinal flower) I sent the seeds to you. I would transplant in the garden though. If I get a chance I will take a picture of mine. The 2 I don’t know.

    I am guessing #1 as a weed…..

the pictures of your #2 have me confused.  The 1st one looks like Datura, while the 2nd looks like 4 o’clocks.

The leaves on number 3 look like smart weed, but I did not know it to have the bamboo circles on it’s stem.  Kiss me over the garden gate has those….but that is nor KMOGG.  Charlene
