My additions to one of my favorite birds at my feeders! Love their sweet little chirps

I was hiding behind a tractor to get these first shots on a zinnia.

At the feeder this morning. Some have changed in color this week partially but not many in this shot show much yellow

at the feeder during summer months

Hi Bird lovers!!! I’m new! New to this site and new to Bird watching, Bird Feeding and Bird photography! So I have lots to learn!!

I saw my first Gold Finch when I was 6 years old. It is my first memory of seeing a bird!!! It was such a beautiful bright yellow! It was in my uncles tobacco barn out side of Henderson NC. I will never forget that beautiful little bird!

Well, over 40 years later and I am falling in love with the Gold Finch all over again! But this time they are coming to visit me! So exciting!!! I started putting out food a while back because it was such a hard winter with so much snow and ice. Had NO idea how beautiful the birds would be or how much fun I would have taking pictures!!! As my friend said, I have gone BIRD CRAZY! I get 3 different woodpeckers and a wide variety of birds.  When I first started I got one Gold Finch, then the next day there was three! Then a dozen! Now there are about 30 everyday!!!

I hate having to leave to go to work! ha ha I love weekends! I get all day to watch the birds! I am less than a month in and already have hundreds of pictures! I am sharing a couple of my favorite Gold Finch pictures. Hope you enjoy them! Look forward to learning and sharing with you all!!!

Not sure if these will show up.  New at this.

Hi, Charles…it’s always nice to meet more enthusiastic ’Birders’, who are ‘Bird Crazy’ (like some of us, here)!   :)   So glad you found your way to ‘Birds and Blooms’. Your photos are beautiful! I can’t believe you were able to get the Goldfinch ‘Wing Shots’, that you did. I, especially, love this one, with the Goldfinch yelling at the Junco…

    One of Charles’ Goldfinch photos…

Welcome Charles, I feel your pain regarding going to work. Every sunny spring morning I stare out my office window, pouting (and cursing) about all the missed birding opportunities!

Welcome to the birding forum Charles.  I just browsed through your picture.  They are great.  I love the action shots.  I’m just wondering if that goldfinch was sharing his seed or was it to steal it….lol.

I love the cheerful chatter of these little birds. They make a winter’s day less dreary.

Thank you Sharon!! I will try that next time. I had about 40 Goldfinches feeding this morning!! I can’t wait for  their color to come in!!! I hope it comes in while there are still blossoms in the peach tree!!!
