Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep bees away from the jelly feeder we have out for the Orioles?  Don’t really want to harm the bees, but the birds don’t like them there.

No.  What kind of jelly feeder do you have?  Bees are a problem at hb feeders, too, sometimes.

I hear Peppermint Oil (not the cooking extract kind) works on the HB feeders.  Maybe it will on the grape Jelly feeders also.

We had problems with bees completely covering our hummingbird feeds a few years ago. Our neighbor raises bees and sells the honey and he said they were going for food there because there wasn’t enough natural food available. This year we have had plenty of rain and the wild flowers and alfalfa have bloomed and supplied the bees with plenty of food.  If the orioles are anything like our hummers and orioles, they’ll find a way around the bees.
