I’m a newcomer to this forum. Sorry about the flooding. The good news is you had insurance…

    I so know what it is like! The insurance Co was a godsend! Be sure to let the city know…ours was a backup of the sewer…it couldn’t handle the amount of water.

    I know exactly how you feel about the flood water. BTDT

    Can the insurance company send a cleanup company that can do the cleaning for you?

    Extend my sympathies to Sherry for their loss.

    {{{Resa}}} Like others, I wish I were closer in distance to help when you need it. It sounds as if you re a tad overwhelmed today and don t need anything else to go wrong.

    I am sorry to hear of Sherrys’ loss and send prayers of comfort to the family.

Sympathies indeed. Last night, before I went to bed, I went down to check the basement and landed in a puddle at the bottom of the stairs. I had to get the sump pump hooked up and thread the hose through the cat flap (no easy activity for a single person!) Then I had to get the shop vac to suck up the puddle at the bottom of the stairs, man handle it to the drain which involved getting it down four stairs and it was heavy!, and then back to suck up some more which is still inside as I didn’t have the energy to empty it again. Then I carried up the two litter boxes and put them on newspapers in the kitchen as I didn’t want the cats going down there and getting their feet wet, and I needed to shut the door to the basement in case any strays came in through the cat flap. After that I could get to my bed! This morning the driveway was dry so the flooding into the sump pump must have stopped in the night. So I certainly came off better than you!!! Even though Bill might not have been much help, at least he was there for you to talk to while you soaked it up … I felt really alone last night! John was a major help with flooding — though a trifle too imaginative at times!!!! I’m glad your insurance will come through — I didn’t have enough water for them to be called. I did run around making sure all the extension cords were connected above ground level so I didn’t get any shorting or other problems. Fortunately, last time I got water coming in (a month or so ago,) I moved everything that might suffer off the floor so I came off well. (fingers crossed — heavy rain and I will be sharing your suffering!

Hang in there!!! {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

    I didn’t have any flooding here, my house was built on a little hill so I’m up off the ground.

    Thank you for your sympathies for DH brother, he was sick for a long time, he is at peace now.

    Oh, by the way his name was David… welcome David.

    Glad help is coming your way Resa.

    Sorry for your loss, Sherry.

    Water is so troublesome when it floods homes, and anything else.

    You two hang together for support.

    Soon to bed as I am tired and worry about my doggie at the vet, so that doesn’t help any when it comes to sleeping.
