Photo: I wonder what this is?

I don’t know what this is, took this picture about 1 month ago.  Thanks

Jill   I looked for this in the site you told me about, couldn’t find it,

I really need to find a book.

Carol, I have two books… one is the Peterson First Guides Butterflies and Moths… I have almost worn this book out… its small and has all the moths, butterflies and such in it… plus pictures and descriptions.

The second book is National Audubon Society pocket guide Familiar Butterflies of North America.. color pics like the other one… not as much in it but very good.. I keep one in the van with me all the time..

Thank you Sharon,  I am going to look for one of these books.   I just missed a blue and black butterfly, I went outside and it was on the coneflowers, hurried inside to get the camera, it flew off and I couldn’t find it again,  I will be watching for him.

You’re having such great luck spotting butterflies this year, Carol! A great website for learning more about butterflies is Butterflies and Moths of North America, butterfliesandmoths.org
