Good morning everyone, its 48° and a little chilly we have blue skies and sunshine this morning. We expect afternoon temperatures in the upper 70s.

Painting Contractor is supposed to stop by today and go over paint color for the house and trim. They have painting scheduled for next week provided the weather stays nice.

Update on Lollie… We saw the Vet yesterday; poor Lollie she really has been having a hard time. Her sugar count was still really high; so we have to increase her insulin. The Vet lanced a cyst of hers and her skin has gotten so dry with her allergies. She has now has cataracts on both eyes; and she doesn’t seem to be seeing very well. She has another appointment next week at the Vets for another follow-up; hopefully we will get her diabetes regulated soon.

I called her eye specialist when we returned home and she has an appointment next Thursday for him to check her eyes.

Pat, I’m sorry about your computer; I just don’t understand people today….I was really fortunate that nail didn’t go into my foot; God was looking out for me again. When I was 6 years old I was playing outside with some friends and stepped on a rusty nail; that time it did go through the sole of my shoe and way into my foot. My Mom took the nail out and used some home remedy and I was fine. I remember it really well as the next day I was trying to show my new brother-in-law and you couldn’t even tell where the nail had gone in.

    Hi Marilyn, pretty sunset picture.

Hi to all yet to post.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Hi All,

We started at 69 degrees, it’s  89 sunny degrees now, we hit 92 degrees yesterday. I spent two hours working on our driveway berm this morning, I managed to set the bricks that I took up yesterday and  fill  in part of the hole where I took up bricks this morning. I’ll need to fill in some more where I can get a smooth transition between the dirt drive and the bricks, I’ll start back after Joyce goes back to work on Monday.

Yesterday afternoon I took our old HP Tower apart, I put the plastics and metals in a box and used another box for the toxic electronics parts….I made sure to destroy the hard drive so its data couldn’t be harvested.

Marnee….It’s hard to find every dropped roofing nail, I’m very careful when I work on any project around our property. I count the nails that a project should need and take that many, I know if I’ve dropped one that way

Marilyn…..I didn’t live in a air conditioned home until we came up from Puerto Rico where I finished the last half of my senior year in Jacksonville, FL. We always had window and circulating fans, dad built a window unit that added moisture to the air when we lived in Beeville TX ’54-’55, I have the motor and fan out in the pump shed.

Hi ALL WBs!  We got 3/10th of an inch of rain last night.  It was 55 this morning and got to 80, but seemed hotter with humidity rising today and the sun beating down without much breeze..  I didn’t do anything outside.

Marnee,  I feel so badly for Lollie.  I sure hope the vets can help her.  It is so hard when our pets don’t understand what is happening to them.

Marilyn,  that is a pretty pic from Janis.

    Have a great day everyone!

Hello to all!  Today it was 70 degrees, bright sunshine and nice out.  We are to have a sunny, warm weekend.  I had errands to run and checked out some plants in the flower beds this morning.  See I have to dig and transplant some susans as they are crowding the sedum from coming up all over the place.  So that is a job that needs doing and weeding trying to clean all the beds out so what is still in them will grow.  I did plant some daylilies, sneezeweed and phlox the other day.

I have to put my hanging baskets together and that will be the end of the annuals.  I have 4 coleus plants to put in a pot, too.  Not filling the round white planters this year.  I have enough flowers out now with the wave petunias planted near the front entrance.

Some of the flowers have taken off and got tall with the recent rains we’ve had.  DH cleaned out eavetroughs yesterday that were full of debris from maples and spruces.  Also had to trim some maple branches that were overhanging onto the roof.  My viburnum is in full bloom and lasting a long time.  The flowers are white.  It is on west corner of the house and the mock orange is growing a lot this year, too.

I know everyone is busy this time of year.  Have a good night.

Just a gorgeous day here, bu was cool this morning. We had 45º and finally made it’s way to 76º. You would never have thought it.Did not need the a/c, just nice fresh air.

Marnee, I feel so bad for Lollie. I sure wish she would get regulated with her diabetes. I know nothing about that in an animal.Dogs mini graphics

Terry, Hubby cut a hole in the wall of our trailer and put the a/c in there.

Pat, Like your new avatar. We had over an ” night before last. They are calling for possible showers Sunday.Rain mini graphics

    Hi Marg!

    Hi Posy!

I got this from DD FB page. It’s a sad story but has a happy ending or I would not have posted. Some scumball had severed this pelican’s throat, they thought he would die but took him to this animal rescue place and nursed him back to health. It shows them releasing him on the beach & he flies away and joins up with a gang of pelicans.Angel smileys

Hi ALL WBs!   We really cooled off….starting at 44 and going to 62 degrees with T-storms this morning and showers this afternoon.

Marilyn,  Thanks!  I just realized I had a snowy pic for my avatar…lol!  Beautiful pics of the pelican’s release!   It is so sad how someone could be so cruel.

Marg,  All my garden is in except I haven’t planted beans yet.  Guess I forgot to buy the seeds or they would be in.  I have a regular forest of tomato plants!  I hope it’s a good year and not too humid for them.

I’m watching the pre-show of the Belmont Stakes.  I sure hope California Chrome can do it, but there are some good horses that didn’t run in the Preakness.

    Have a great day everyone!

Hi WWBs!  It was another nice one here today!  Bright sunshine, temps in the low 80s, not much wind or humidity.  Weather will be more rainy & stormy this coming week!  Glad it hasnt gotten too hot yet!  Just nice!

Mm, sounds like you have some nice weather going on in your neck of the woods!

Hi Pat!  Glad you got your garden in!  Are you doing your vernal pool again this season?

    Marilyn, like the pics!

    Terry, sounds hot there now!

Good afternoon everyone, our morning clouds cleared and we now have blue skies and sunshine with a breeze and it’s 80 degrees.

Marilyn, those are beautiful pictures of the pelican’s release. It is hard to imagine how anyone can be so cruel.  A friend of mine lives in an independent living area and they use to have people bring in dogs for visits and stopped as one of the older women there would kick the dogs. I believe after that person moved they have been able to bring back the dogs for visits.

Pat, I did watch the Belmont and yes I did want California Chrome to win the Triple Crown. IMO if its a Triple Crown race only the horses that raced in the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness should be able to race at Belmont.  Poor horses in three big races and have to race others fresh horses.  I have always enjoyed these races but I think they need to change the rules. After today I’m not sure I care much for horse races!

Marg, glad you have had some nice weather. I’m glad it’s  supposed to stay nice here next week as the painters are supposed to be here painting my house.

Hi Janis, Terry, Posy, Sharon, Hiker, Mary Ann, Grace, and all that follow.

Mm, I did want Calif Chrome to win it & get the Triple Crown, too!  Was most disappointed it didnt happen & I agree about the “fresh” horses running if a Triple Crown is a possibility w/ ahorse!  This will get discussed for a long time byb all, I believe!  Not fair & I agreed w/ CC’s owner!  Wasnt a good race either, imo!

Hi Everyone! It is turning cool right now, but was near 80º today. Calling for showers tomorrow but is to be 80º again. Had a slight breeze so did not need the a/c.

Pat, I was hoping that California Chrome would win too but I had my doubts. I heard some “horse” person that there were different horses, used to a big track . Did you see the remarks from “the owner” saying it was not fair to let other horses run or maybe he was just mad he did not win.  I understand the winner did not run in the previous 2 races then comes into this one & wins.

Hi Marg! How is your apt. hunting coming? I bet it is hard…………I agree with you about the horse race. I liked the other 2 races better than this one. I don’t know why.

Marnee,I spent nearly a month in rehab after I broke my hip. People would bring dogs in there & it was nice. People really looked forward to that.

I got this off of DD’s FB page.

Hi there! Had an overcast day here but did not get anywhere near the rain that they called for. It only made it into the 70s today.

Have a friend up in Pittsburgh that sent me a few pictures of the BLUE ANGELS when they performed there recently.

Hi ALL WBs!  We started out at 48 and went to 73 and sunny today.  There was low humidity and a nice breeze.

I didn’t think California Chrome’s owner should have “voiced his opinion” in the way that he did after the Belmont, but he is right.   I did some research and up until 1980 the Belmont horses had to have run in the other two races.  The races were farther apart too, giving them all a longer rest.  Ride on Curlin, who did run the other two, started bleeding at the 1/4 mile and was pulled up.  Bleeding comes from the lungs and the horse can’t get air.  CC had the bulb of his right front heel cut by another horse coming out of the gate.  That could have affected his ability to run, but I think the jockey made a mistake by taking him to the outside.  He should have stayed on the rail from where he won his other races. JMO.

Marilyn,  Cute graphic of the kitty!  Beautiful pics of the Blue Angels!

Marg,  We don’t do anything with the vernal pool……just leave it natural.  It is a rare thing in WI and certain wildlife depend on it that way.  Are you thinking of my water garden?  It is cleaned and the water can fountain is running, but it needs finishing around it yet.  The Water Calla Lily made it through that severe winter, but another plant died that I can’t think of the name of.

    Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone, its 58° chilly and cloudy this morning. Morning clouds moved in, along with patchy drizzle. Our daytime highs are expected to be in the mid 70s once the clouds break up this afternoon.

At this point I’m not sure if the weather is going to cooperate with the painting job on my house scheduled for tomorrow. The crew is here today doing the prep work.

Marilyn, great shots of the Blue Angels; it would really be interesting to see them.

Pat, I think it probably it was not a good time for the media to interview California Chrome’s owner. He was upset and I can’t say as I blame him; so it may come off to some that he was just unhappy because he did not win and to others it just looks like the race is unfair. I know for myself I don’t care if I ever watch another race. IMO the horses should have to run in the other two races if they want to run in the Belmont.

Hi to all yet to post.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Hi All,

We started at 72 degrees, it’s 89 overcast degrees now. We’ve had four 95 degrees days in a row, I’ve been watering our plants every two days. Joyce picked two ripe  tomatoes yesterday and ate one of them, I noticed four more that are ready while I was watering this morning. I didn’t feel like playing in the dirt this morning, I’m sitting here goofing off, feels great.

We bought a little red leaf begonia plant  and a small basket of straight neck yellow squash at the church market Saturday morning.

Joyce made a large pot of chicken noodle soup on Saturday, that’s what we ate that day and Sunday……there’s enough leftover(in the freezer) to make a chicken pot pie later. Sunday she did a large pork roast in the crock pot  for this week, that should last for a few meals.

Marg…..I was able to get a early start with our plants down here, the peppers are doing better now.

    Terry
