If your friend asked you what they should do first to start creating their own wildlife garden what would you suggest to them?
How would you help them choose the best plants for their region that would support a lot of wildlife?
What books would you recommend they read?
What blogs and websites would you suggest as resources?
I’m gathering together all of your best tips and I’ll be collecting them together in a series of articles (with full credit to you).

One of the first things I did was to plant a couple of buterfly bushes. Then I made sure there was enough brush, trees, and places for the birds and other wildlife could take hold. I am in the process of trying to attract hummingbirds by planting saliva, petunias, and lots of honeysuckle plus the 2 feeders that I hung. Alot of the hummingbird plants are red, but they don’t have to be just as long as some of them have tube like forms. This should get you started. Have fun!
