Birds & Blooms’ Friday Fun Photography snapshot for March 14, 2014: Red-Bellied Woodpecker and Chipping Sparrow by Deb Kainauskas of Jacksonville, Florida. Deb writes, “I decided to add some mealworms to my platform feeder for the bluebird I had seen around. The next day, I caught this red-bellied woodpecker standing guard over them! Funny thing is, I don’t think this chipping sparrow had the slightest interest in having some.”

Do you have a clever caption for this fun photo? We’d love to hear it!

Did you see that guy? He waved me away and then he told me that I was not to drill on his chimney… the nerve!!!!

And so then I said to the Blue Jay that blue was definitely her color and the Mockingbird starting mocking me. It went all crazy from there when Black Capped Chickadees showed up and starting talking smack about the finches – I mean “Spar(e)”row me, seriously.

  5. Linda Oliver says

Now, you listen to me. I was feeding here before your mama ever thought about laying an egg. You understand, kiddo ?
