Forsythia Not Blooming

My forsythia has yet to bloom after many years of waiting. How can I get this shrub to unfurl its bright-yellow flowers in early spring?

Melinda:

The flower buds of most forsythia are not winter hardy in the North. The plants will survive extreme cold, but the flower buds won't. Add some of the newer forsythias that have cold-hardy buds for reliable spring bloom. "Meadowlark" is 9 feet tall and hardy in areas in Zone 3. "Northern Sun" and "Vermont Sun" are also large shrubs and hardy in Zone 4. "Sunrise" is smaller, urban tolerant and hardy to areas in Zone 4.
