Summer Food

I've heard it's bad to feed birds in spring and summer because it keeps them from using their natural food sources. Is this true?

George: This is a myth that just seems to live forever. There's absolutely nothing harmful about feeding backyard birds in summer. In fact, I encourage you to feed birds throughout the year. During summer, you may have some of the most delightful bird-watching experiences, such as seeing parent birds bring their youngsters to feeders for the first time.
