Hi! I'm Teresa and I live with my husband, Roger, on a small farm in west-central Illinois. We don't have any kids, so our dog, Albert, gets spoiled a lot! I work full-time, but in my spare time, I enjoy fishing, bird-watching (especially hummingbirds), taking pictures, reading and crafting. I like to think that I have a good sense of humor and enjoy just about any joke. All in all, life is good!
Hi! I'm Sue and I live in Gainesville, New York, with my husband and three boys. I love gardening and hate weeding! I have several bird feeders around my house so I can watch them all come to feed. I also love to cook and spend plenty of time doing that as well. In addition, I'm a bit of a craft-a-holic and enjoy quilting, decorative painting and scrapbooking!
Hi! I'm Lynn and I live in Wichita, Kansas. I retired in 2008 after more than 30 years in the phone business. I'm 49 and enjoy spending my time gardening, bird-watching and playing with my two grandsons. I first joined the Birds & Blooms community in 2002 when I had a question about a greenish bird (which I later learned was a goldfinch). I've been an active member ever since and love to go to the community to chat with friends.
Hi! I'm Larkie and I live in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am 65 years old and have been married for 46 years. I'm a mother of four grown children, grandmother of five and great-grandmother of one. I love bird-watching and taking pictures of the feathered friends in my area. I'm an active member of the women's group at my church and have been enjoying retirement since 2006.
Hi! I'm Janis and I live in southeast West Virginia on 2 acres in the New River Gorge area. I'm a retired military barber and that's where I met my husband, too. He mesmerized me while I cut his hair one day, and after a military wedding, we lived in New York for several years. My current goal is to transform our clay habitat into a paradise for our wildlife friends and us.
Hi! I'm Niki and I live on an island in the San Juans of Washington State. I raise beef and have an assortment of cats, dogs, chickens and ducks, along with husband of 30+ years. I'm a mother of four and grandmother of seven. My mother passed along to me a love of gardening, canning, bird-watching and stargazing. I am a country girl at heart, with everything from hummingbirds to eagles resting on the wooden fence around my yard. I always have a bird book and binoculars on the table by my chair, and I can't imagine it any other way.
Hi! I'm Resa and I live in Nova Scotia. I am a mother of seven and grandmother of 12. I love watching birds, and in my spare time, I love to garden and do crafts, mainly crochet. I have been actively involved on the Birds & Blooms community since 2002. During the last seven years, I have traveled all over Canada and the U. S. meeting friends I have made on these boards.
Hi! I'm Jo Ann and I live with my husband, Ben, on 5 acres in rural south-central Alabama. We are both retired and have four sons, four daughter-in-laws and five grandchildren who all live within 15 miles of us. We share our land with our beagle, Charlie, and a bunch of chickens. Ben and I enjoy working in the yard even though we have poor soil and have had to build raised flower beds in some areas. We have had luck with hibiscus, petunias and roses. We also enjoy the many birds and have several birdhouses and feeders, including two for the hummingbirds. I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and participating in church events.
Hi! I'm Bette from Schroon Lake, New York. I am a retired insurance broker after 31 years in the business. During that time, my husband and I also owned and operated a greenhouse. We grew annuals and perennials as well as vegetables, mostly from seed. While our two children were growing up, we had over an acre of land for growing our own vegetables, which we canned and froze for our winter supply. We still have a large vegetable garden carved out of our woodland property atop a mountain in the Adirondacks. I am working on landscaping the property with flowers and shrubs. It is a harsh Zone 4 presenting many challenges.
Hi! I'm Jean and I live in Taylorsville, Georgia. My dad got me interested in birds and wildlife as a child. He knew all of names of the birds on our farm in North Carolina. Now, after a move to Georgia and many other changes, I am finally able to focus on providing a nurturing and healthy environment for our native birds. Bird-watching has become one of the most enjoyable parts of my life. The main reason I provide for the birds is for our future. I want my granddaughter to be able to enjoy the song of a bluebird or the funny antics of a Carolina chickadee.
Hi! I'm Ann from Thunder Bay, Ontario. I moved to Canada as a teen and then met my husband at the local university. We've now been married 35 years! My two sons are natural computer users, and when my typewriter could no longer be repaired, they insisted I use one of their old computers. It opened the world up at my fingertips! When I'm not online, I'm usually at my stained glass retail studio in the city. And while in theory, I do actually work full-time, I make sure that I have plenty of time to enjoy life and play!
