Hummingbird Garden Plan

Hummingbirds will love this sweet garden.

With so many kinds of hummingbirds, at least one kind can be found in almost every part of the United States, and even in some areas of Canada. You can increase the chances of seeing these winged wonders in your yard by adding a beautiful hummingbird garden.

Simply find a corner in your backyard and plant a smorgasbord of some of their favorite nectar-producing flowers. We've included 12 choices below that are certain to invite hummingbirds to your yard.

Be sure to include a hummingbird feeder filled with homemade sugar water. Once the tiny birds begin feeding at it, move the feeder closer to a window for an even more impressive view of these miniature miracles.

Make your own nectar by mixing 4 parts water to 1 part sugar. Boil about 1 to 2 minutes, then cool and fill your feeder. The leftovers can be stored in your refrigerator for up to 1 week.

The guests will arrive in no time, and they'll certainly appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness.
