Dollhouse Digs

"One Christmas morning when I was 4 years old, my parents surprised my sisters and me with a hand-crafted dollhouse," shares Kristen Whitcomb Pochipinski of Colorado Springs, Colorado. "Through the years, we've moved it around until it found itself in the hands of my two young boys It didn't take long for it to become a target for their hockey practice, so I knew I had to find a way to preserve this special gift. With that in mind, I split it into three parts, restored its original colors and had a family friend reshingle the roof. The next Christmas, the recycled dollhouse became birdhouse gifts!"
