Brake for the Birds

"When my wife, Mickey, worked in the school cafeteria, she opened plenty of cans as she prepared meals," says Owen C. of Granite Falls, North Carolina. "That gave me the idea to recycle the cans into something practical and eye-catching. So I used them to make a birdhouse in the form of a four-way traffic light. Birds have constructed a number of nests inside it since we put it up in our yard."
