Decoupage Clay Pot

Personalize a terra cotta pot with decoupage letters and stickers.

Supplies
Choice of terra-cotta pot with a wide rim
Chipboard or sticker letters to fit pot rim
Letter-size solid-color card stock
Decorative corner punch (optional)
Flower stickers or other paper embellishments
Mod Podge Outdoor decoupage glue
Sponge brush

STEP 1. Clean surface of pot thoroughly with a dry cloth.

STEP 2. Cut a long rectangle from card stock to fit the rim height of the pot. Make it as long as you like. If desired, use a decorative corner punch on the corners.

STEP 3. Adhere desired letters to rectangle, forming a phrase to personalize the pot, such as "Sue's Garden."

STEP 4. With sponge brush, apply a thin coat of glue to the back of the rectangle and to the area of the pot where it will go. Adhere card stock to pot, pressing gently in place and smoothing out bubbles. Let dry.

STEP 5. Adhere flower stickers or other embellishments to pot rim. If needed, use decoupage glue.

STEP 6. Once everything dries in place, coat entire surface of the decoration with decoupage glue to seal. If desired, coat the exterior surface of the rest of the pot, too. Coat as many times as needed for full coverage, letting dry between coats.
